WHO IS GOD ?

There is one God who is infinitely perfect, the Creator, the Preserver, the Governor of all things and who is the only God for us to worship. There is only one God. This is declared by God's Word from Genesis to Revelation. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1) is the very start of the Bible, while The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen (Revelation 22:21) concludes it. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1) witnesses to one God. Jesus tells us that there is only one God. Abraham recognized that there is only one God. Moses, David, Solomon, Isaiah ,Paul and others all tell us that there is only one God. God is infinitely perfect. God is perfect in His Divine attributes of or characteristics. God is self-existent, eternal, unchangeable, present everywhere, knows all things, is all powerful, has perfect wisdom, is perfectly just, has perfect holiness, is perfect truth and faithful, shows infinite mercy, is perfect love. God is the Creator of all things. God is the Creator of the heaven and earth. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God is the Creator of animal life and every living creature. God is the Creator of man in His own image(Genesis 1:27). God is the Preserver and Governor of all things. God rules over what He has created. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible , whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or power ; all things were created by Him, and for Him (Colossians1:16) We must worship only the Lord our God. Jesus tells us that we must worship only the Lord our God and serve only Him. There is only one God. Our God is eternal, unchanging, present everywhere, all wise and all powerful. God is perfect in holiness, in faithfulness in mercy, and in love. God created the world, the stars, and the heavens. God also created man in His image. God rules and governs in nature and in the hearts of men. We worship God because God loves us first and we love God. We should not worship anyone else, or anything else.

THE TRINITY

We have one God but three Persons. There are three persons in the Godhead -the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory. Thus we have one God , but three Persons. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). The Lord He is God. There is none beside Him (Deuteronomy 4:35) And God said , Let us make man in our image, after our likeness (Genesis 1:26). God is a Person. Jesus is a Person. The Holy spirit is a Person. In Matthew 17:5, God the Father said of Jesus, This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased ; listen to Him . Jesus calls the Holy Spirit , "He ", indicating that the Holy Spirit is a Person also. Jesus tells us about the Holy Spirit, saying, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). "He" indicates that the Holy Spirit is a Person also. Jesus calls God the Father, "He". This shows that the Father is a Person (John 8:14). WE NOW HAVE ONE GOD BUT THREE PERSON (1) God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit have the same mind. They have the same thoughts. (2)God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit have the same love for man. God is love. They share the same concerns. (3) God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit have exactly the same purpose. They agree with each other. There is no disagreement between them. (4) God the Son and God the Holy Spirit perfectly fulfill the will of God the Father. We have one God , but three Persons. The Father is not the Father. And the Father is not the Holy Spirit. The Son is not the Father. And the Son is not the Holy Spirit. Each Person in the Trinity is really and truly God and is treated as God. There is one God , but three Persons. Each Person is God - in essence and nature. The essence which binds Them together in One is their common nature of Deity, of being God. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father , the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these are One (1 John 5:7) And the Son the Lord Jesus Christ is the Word. There common nature of being God unites Them together. God is infinitely perfect, the Creator , the Preserver, and the Governor of all things. God is perfect in His Divine characteristics, or nature. God is self-existent, eternal, unchangeable, present everywhere, knows all things, is powerful, has perfect wisdom, is faithful, shows infinite mercy, is perfect love. All these characteristics are found in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things. Before the heaven and earth were created, the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit already were in existence. God's Word tells us about the Father in the beginning. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1) God's Word tells us about the Holy Spirit in the beginning. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Genesis 1:2). The Lord Jesus Christ was present in the beginning. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of man (John 1:1-40 ) Before the world was created, the Word already was in existence. The Word is everlasting. The Word is everlasting. The Word is the Lord Jesus Christ. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,( and we beheld His glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth (John 1;14). The Word becomes a human being, who is our Lord Jesus Christ. THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS PROMISED. Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth ; whom the world cannot receive , because it sees Him not, neither knows Him ; but you s Him ; for He dwells with you, and shall be in you (John 14:15:17) Jesus commanded His chosen apostles that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, concerning the Holy Spirit. They were to be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days. THE COMING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1-4). But this is that which was spoken by Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And on my servants and my handmaidens I will pour out in those days my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath ; blood, and fire and vapour of smoke. The sun shall turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:16-21).

THE NEW BIRTH

The faith of the crowd was resting mainly in the miracles, though the meaning of the miracles of Jesus was not sinking into their minds. Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover , in the feast day, many believed in His name, when they saw the miracles which He did. But Jesus did not commit Himself unto them, because He knew all men, but needed not that any should testify of man; for He knew what was in man (John 2:23-25). There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews (John 3:1). This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him ( John 3:2). Jesus saw through Nicodemus, in spite of the man's lofty religious position. Jesus knows what is in man. a man's high religious position can not save him. Why did Nicodemus come by night ? Was it because of fear of criticism; or a desire for uninterrupted conversation ; or simply a private investigation before committing himself publicly for or against Jesus ? Many people ,like Nicodemus, recognize Jesus as a teacher fro God. Yet they still will not commit themselves to the Lord Jesus Christ. Nicodemus was a morally upright man. He was one of the religious leaders of his days. To this man Jesus told that he must be born again. all the man's cleverness and high religious position could not save him from the bondage of sin. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). If we say That we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life (Romans 6:23). For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus said , Truly, Truly , I say to you, Except a man is born again, he can not see the kingdom of God (John 3:3 ) When you accept Jesus as the Lord of your life, Jesus baptizes you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes the unbelieving sinner aware of the guilt and his need for salvation. The Holy Spirit makes the unbelieving sinner see his need for Christ to save him. The Holy Spirit helps the sinner to be born again. The new birth is produced by the Holy Spirit. First there must be a new spiritual birth. Then you can experience God's love. Then you can experience and understand and see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus wanted to know how can a man be born again when he is old. Nicodemus asked, How can a man be born when he is old ? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born ? (John 3:4) Jesus said, Truly, truly , I say to you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you. You must be born again. The wind blows where it wills, and you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit (John 3:5-8) Nicodemus said unto Jesus, How can these things be ? (John 3:9) Jesus answered him, Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand this? Truly ,truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen; but you receive our testimony. If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things ? And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:10-15). The laws that govern the flesh and the laws that spirit are not the same. Those who lead people to worship idols are thieves and robber. they are the false prophets. They come to steal and to kill. Jesus said to them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the traditions of men, as washing of pots and cups; and many other such like things you do (Mark 7:6-8) Jesus is the Door to God. There is no other way you can come to God. Only Jesus can save you. God told Moses to lift up the serpent in the wilderness for the rebellious people to see. They had to make a decision. They could choose to obey God. Or they could choose to rebel against God. Those who continued in their evil ways perished in the wilderness. As the result of their sins they brought about their own death. Fiery serpents attacked them and they suffered deadly bites. They were killed by lust. They were killed by pride. They were killed by anger. They were killed by jealousy. They were killed by their selfishness. They died in the wilderness because they worshipped idols. They did not worshipping God in spirit and truth. They worshipped man's teachings and man's traditions. They worshipped idols. And they died in their sins. They boasted about their doctrines and about themselves. Their boasting showed how little they know about God. Jesus said, My doctrine is not mine, but He who sent me. If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself (John7:16-17) Things that can not be possible in the physical world of the flesh may be possible in the spiritual world. A person moves into a higher level of life and personality when he is born again. Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it will go, so is everyone who is born of the Spirit. You can see the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the person who is born of the Spirit. Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart. You are born again , not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever (1 Pere 1:22-23). And be drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one another in fear of God (Ephesians 5:18-21) The believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit is completely under the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. To be filled with the Holy Spirit means to live a life in the power of the Holy Spirit and to live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vainglory, provoking one another. envying one another (Galatians 5:25-26) How do we walk in the Spirit ? We do this through reading and studying the Word of God, and by prayers and by choosing to obey the commandments of God. As we give ourselves totally to god in this way , the Holy Spirit takes control of us. and we will enjoy the fullness of the Holy spirit. How do you know when you are filled with the Holy Spirit ? You will be filled with a new love for God, a new love for your neighbours, a deep joy, a thankfulness toward the Lord Jesus Christ, and a willingness to seek the welfare of others rather than your own. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance ; against such there is no law (Galatians 6:22-23) The Holy Spirit gives those of us who place our faith in the lord Jesus Christ the absolute assurance that we are the children of God. The Holy Spirit gives you the comforting certainty that you are a child of God. The Holy Spirit produces within us the assurance that the Lord Jesus Christ has saved us. Jesus calls the Holy Spirit ; Comforter. The Holy Spirit gives you the comforting peace that Jesus loves you and has given Himself for you ; and that all your sins are forgiven and you are sharing His righteousness. Absolute assurance of salvation is not experienced through accumulating intellectual proofs or collecting religious experience. We are saved through the witness of the Holy Spirit in conjunction with the written Word of the living God. As we are faithful to our lord Jesus Christ, we receive that witness of the Holy Spirit that gives us a peace that passes all understanding . The Holy Spirit assures us as believers that we are saved and that the Lord Jesus Christ has paid the price of our sins and broke the power of death. If you trust the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, the Holy Spirit lives within you. Jesus said, If you love me, you will keep my commandments, and I will pray the father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world can not receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him; but you know him; for He dwells with you, and shall be in you (John 14:15-17) Jesus said, A new commandment I give you; That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another (John 13:34-35)

JESUS THE WAY TO GOD

Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you , I will come again, and receive you unto myself ; that where I am , there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going. Thomas said unto him, Lord , we do not know where you are going ; so how can we know he way ? Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes unto the Father , but by me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also ; and from henceforth you know Him, and have seen Him. Jesus tells us that our future centers in a Person and a place. I will prepare a place... I will... receive you unto Myself. The expectation of the believer is everlasting companionship with Christ. faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the believer's key to security, no matter how great might be the believer's fear. Jesus did not say He know the way, the truth, and the life or that He taught the way, the truth, and the life. Rather Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes unto the Father , but by me. (John14:6) (1) I am the way Jesus is the only way to our heavenly father. In Christ we have access to God the Father. Jesus said, I and my Father are one (John 10:30). We do not need to travel some distance on the road before we reach God. Once we reach Jesus , the Way, we reach God. In Christ we have access to God. (Ephesians 2:18; Hebrews 9:8;10:20) (2) I am the Truth. Jesus is the Truth, concerning all things. In Christ we have personified the righteous standard of the way. Jesus is the pattern for true living. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (John 1:17). (3)I am the Life. Jesus is the Life. Life is that which sustains man on the way. In him was life ; and life was the light of man John 1:4) Jesus said, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, Give me a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water (John 4:10) Jesus said, I a come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John10:10). God works only through Christ for He is the only way to the Father (John 1:28;John 6:46;John8:19; John 17:25; Acts 4:12; Matt 11:27; Luke 10:22). No person can come to the Father except by perceiving the Truth and participating in the Life which is revealed to man in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Knowledge of Christ is knowledge of God. Philip said to Jesus, Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied. Jesus said to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip ? He who has seen me has seen the father; How an you say, Show us the Father ? Believe you not that I am in the father , and the Father in me ? The words I speak to you I speak not of myself ; but the Father who dwells in me. He does the works. Jesus said, Believe that I am in the Father , and that the Father in me ; or else believe me for the very work's sake . Truly, truly , I say unto you, He who believes in me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do ; because I go unto my Father. and whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the son. If you ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Christ enables people with the eyes of faith to see the invisible God, and to know God. Jesus said , He who sees me, Sees Him who sent me (John 12:45). Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature ; For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in the earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers ; all things were created by him, and for him (Colossians 1:15-16) How can our works be greater than those of Jesus ? The work could not be greater in quality than His , but greater in extent. Because Jesus went to his Father, we are able to do these works. Christ would now answer our prayers and would send the Holy Spirit as the unfailing source of wisdom and strength of God. The Holy Spirit is a Person who lives in us to help and guide us. We will do greater works in scope - the world as against Palestine. We will do greater work in time. We will do work throughout the centuries. There will be greater response to our works for the Lord. At the Pentecost only 3000 believers were added. But now millions and millions have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. There will be greater appeal for our works in Christ. Jesus said, And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me (John 12:52). SORROW TURNS INTO JOY (JOHN 16:16-24) Jesus said, A little while , and you shall not see me ; and again, a little while, and you shall see me, because I go to the Father. Then some of His disciples said among themselves, What is that he said, A little while ? We can not tell what he said. Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said to them, Do you inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and you shall not see me ; and again, a little while, and you shall see me ? Truly, truly , I say to you, That you shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice; and you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman when she is about to give birth has sorrow, because her hour of suffering is come; but as soon as she is delivered of the child , she remembers no more the anguish, for joy that a baby is born into the world. And now you therefore have sorrow ; but I will see again, and your heart shall rejoice , and your joy no man takes from you. And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Truly , truly, I say to you , Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it to you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name ; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be full. the sorrow of the believers would soon turn into joy. The Holy spirit will be their Comforter. And no one and nothing will deprive them of their joy. The believer is a heir to joy and happiness which no one can take away. And we know that all things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.

OUR LORD AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

(John 14-16) The Holy Spirit is the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is a Person who stands by you to help and comfort you. The Holy Spirit is the Strengthener. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter. Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commandments. And ; I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever. Even the Spirit of truth ; whom the world can not receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him; but you know Him ; for He dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you. Yet a little while , and the world sees me no more ; but you see me ; because I live , you shall live also. At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me' and I in you. He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him (John 14:15-21) THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES FROM GOD The Holy Spirit comes from our heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit is a gift from God and is not an achievement. Jesus said, I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever (John14:16) Jesus said, But the Comforter , who is the Holy Spirit , whom the Father will sent in my name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). In John 15:26 and John 16:7 , it is Christ who sends the Holy Spirit. There is no contradiction here once we realize that the Persons of the Trinity are one in their will and love . They always agree in everything They do. For we are three that bear record in heaven, the Father , the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one ( 1 John 5:7) THE HOLY SPIRIT IS CALLED THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH The Holy Spirit reveals the truth. Jesus is the truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man can come unto the Father but by me (John 14:6) The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of truth. The Holy Spirit reveals the truth. Jesus is the truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man can come unto the Father but by me (John14:6). The Holy Spirit reveals the truth about Christ. The Holy Spirit reveals Christ who is the truth. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father , even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of me (John 15:26). But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth ; for He will not speak from Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear , that shall He speak ; and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me : for He shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. All things that the Father has are mine. Therefore said I , that He shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you (John 16:13-15). The chief function of the Holy Spirit is to bear witness to Christ. You can only confess Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:3). You can only confess that Jesus is Lord when you are guided by the Holy Spirit. THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES IN THE BELIEVER. The presence of the Holy Spirit is essential to the believer. But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit, he is none of His (Romans 8:9). for he dwells with you and shall be in you (John 14:17). The fullness of the Holy Spirit may vary in the individual life but presence of the Holy Spirit is in the believer. And be not drunk with wine, is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord ; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God (Ephesians 5:18-21). The coming of the Holy Spirit was not simply to supply the absence of Jesus, but to complete His presence. The Holy Spirit guides the believer to Christ. The Holy Spirit speaks only of Christ, the Truth. Everything is fulfilled in Christ. The Holy Spirit is unknown to the world. The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God ; for they are foolishness unto the natural man. Neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world an not receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows him ; but you know him ; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you (John 14:17) THE HOLY SPIRIT TEACHES YOU ALL THINGS Jesus said, But the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26) Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you ; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). Jesus said, You have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto my Father ; for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it come to pass, you might believe (John 14:28-29) Our heavenly Father is the true Judge of righteousness. His readiness to receive the son back into glory shows that he found Jesus to be righteous. For this reason we must rejoice because Jesus is the truth. Jesus said, For my Father is greater than I (John 14:28) What is Jesus saying ? There are three Persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son , and the Holy Spirit, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory. in the Person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are united so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man. When Jesus said that His Father is greater than he, Jesus is not talking about himself as God, but is talking about his person in the present state as a man. Jesus came to this world as a man . Christ is God but He became man to show us the way, the truth, and the life. When Jesus was received back to glory by the Father, the Holy Spirit joins Christ to show us the way, the truth, and the life. The truth about all things can be found in Christ. Christ is the authority of everything. Everything is fulfilled in Christ. The holy Spirit reveals Christ to the believer. The Holy Spirit reveals the truth to the believer. Christ is the truth. Christ is the Finisher of that of which He is the Author. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made (John 1:3) The chief function of the Holy Spirit is to bear witness to Christ. Anything focus attention and interest not the person of Christ is not of God. Truth does not change but our grasp of it does. We should not be afraid of new light of truth because the truth never changes. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Gods revelation is complete in Christ. The Holy Spirit teaches only what is present in Christ.

THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

This is the work of the Holy Spirit. (1) The Holy Spirit convicts (John16:8) (2) The Holy Spirit guides us to Christ (John16:13). (3) The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ (John16:14) The Holy Spirit convicts sin, righteousness, and judgment. Jesus said, And when he( the Holy Spirit) is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged (John 16:8-11). The word reprove means to convince or to convict. The Holy Spirit leads the sinner to see and admit his error. The Holy spirit will prove to the world that they are wrong about sin and about what is right and about God's judgment. Most people believe that we must pay for the wrongs we have done, but to convince a man that his righteousness and his good works are as filthy rags , is the work of the Holy Spirit. Sin is unbelief in Christ. They are wrong because they do not believe in Christ. Christ is the truth. Christ is the truth about all things. Everything finds its fulfillment in Christ. In order to define sin, there must be some kind of standard , and that standard is Christ. This is the reason we need the Word of God and not just conscience. The Word was God (John1:1) Truth does not change. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8) Jesus is the truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes unto the Father , but by me (John 14:6). The truth is the same yesterday , today, and forever. The righteousness of Christ is here in question. What proof that Christ is righteous before our heavenly Father ? Righteousness is not established in a pattern of conduct or code of ethics. Righteousness is established only in Christ. The return of Christ to our heavenly Father in gory was the ultimate proof that Jesus is the perfect pattern for righteousness accepted by our heavenly Father. By the free gift of God's grace we are put right with God through our Lord Jesus Christ who sets us free. God offered Christ , so that by his death Christ should become the way by which people's sins are forgiven through their faith in Him. God did this in order to demonstrate that Christ Jesus is righteous (Romans 1:4; Romans 4:25; Timothy 3:16) Whenever sin and righteousness meet, there must be judgment. The Holy Spirit convinces people that they can not do as they like and get away with it. God will judge them. In convincing wen of their sin and righteousness and judgment, the Holy spirit is simply continuing the work of Christ. Sin (John 15:22); Righteousness(John 7:24) Judgment (John8:16) (a) The Holy Spirit convinces man of his sin. (b)The Holy Spirit convinces man that the Lord Jesus Christ is perfect in righteousness and truth. What we see of God is not complete. Then we shall see face to face who God truly is. What I know now of God is only partial , then I will know God completely - as perfect as God's knowledge of me. We can understand and see only a little about God now. But someday we are going to see God in His completeness, face to face. Now all I see and know is hazy and blurred; but someday I will see everything clearly as God sees into my heart right now. And now these three lives in us : faith, hope , and love. And the greatest of these is love. The Holy Spirit teaches only what is present in Christ. The Holy Spirit guides us to Christ. The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ. Jesus said, But when the spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak from Himself, but whatever he hears, He will speak; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak ; and he will show you things to come. he shall glorify me; for He shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. All things that the father has are mine. Therefore said I, that he shall take it of mine, and shall show it unto you (John 16:13-15) The Holy Spirit guides us to Christ. Any religious organizations , any movements or programs which do not focus on the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ is not of God We can only believe in Christ as our Lord with the help of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter because He is called to help. The Holy Spirit comes from our heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17). The Holy Spirit lives in the believer as Christ is with the believer (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit will teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance(John 14:26). The Holy Spirit will convict the world (John 16:8). The Holy Spirit will convince man that the Lord Jesus Christ is perfect in righteousness and truth. The Holy Spirit will convince man that in the end, man must meet God for man's judgment. The Holy Spirit will guide the believer to Christ (John16:13). The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ.

CHRIST, THE WISDOM OF GOD

(1 Corinthians 1:18-31) It sounds foolish to those who are perishing when they hear that Jesus died to save them. The message about Christ's death on the cross is nonsense and foolishness to those who are being lost. But unto us which are being saved, Christ is the power of God. Christ is the power and wisdom of God. God will destroy all human plans of salvation no matter how clever they may seem to be. Where are the scholars ? Where are the brilliant debaters of this world's great affairs ? Where are the scribes ? Where are the disputers of this world ? God has made them all look foolish. God has shown their cleverness and human wisdom to be useless nonsense. God has shown that this world's wisdom is foolishness. God in His wisdom made it impossible for people to know and find Him by means of their human brilliance and human cleverness. It pleases God to save those who put their trust in Jesus as their Saviour. God sent Jesus into the world , not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life . All those who trust the Lord Jesus Christ to save them shall have eternal life. Those who don't believe in him shall not see life, but the wrath of god remains upon them. The Pharisees want to see a miracle as a proof that Jesus is Christ. And the Gentiles look for the wisdom of the world that will only bring them to their destruction and death. Anyone who believes in our Lord Jesus Christ is not condemned. But anyone who believes not is condemned already because he has not believed in the Son of God. The message about Christ's death on the cross is offensive to the self-righteous religious people of this world and nonsense to the Gentiles. But unto those who are called by God, Christ is the power of God , and the wisdom of God. Because the foolish of God is wiser than men ; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. Now remember what you were when God called you. Not many wise people after the flesh, not many mighty people , and not many people of high social standing are called by God. God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. God has chosen the weak things of the world to bring down the things which are mighty. God has purposely chosen what the world looks down on and despises and thinks as nothing, in order to destroy what the world thinks is important. God purposely chosen what the world considers nonsense in order to shame the worldly clever people. God has chosen what the world considers weak in order to shame the worldly powerful people. This means no one can boast in God's presence. God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus. It is from God that you have your life through Christ Jesus. Our Lord Jesus Christ shows us God's plan to save us. Jesus has made us acceptable to GOD. In Christ Jesus, we are put right with God. We become God's holy people and are set free from the slavery of sin. Jesus gave Himself to purchase our freedom and salvation. so then , as the scripture, says, If any one is going to boast, let him boast only of what the Lord has done. Only the lord Jesus Christ is worthy to be glorified and honored.

THE WISDOM OF GOD

(1 Corinthians 2:1-16) When Paul first came to the Corinthians, he didn't use lofty words and brilliant ideas to tell them about the Good news of Jesus Christ. Paul came not with excellency of speech. He did not use big words and great learning. For Paul has determined to speak only of Jesus Christ the Son of God and His death on the cross. Paul's speech and preaching is not delivered with enticing words of human cleverness, but in demonstration of the Holy Spirit. Paul's speech and preaching is not delivered with skillful words of natural man's cleverness. His speech and message is delivered with the convincing proof of the power of the Holy Spirit. Your faith in Christ should stand firmly only upon the lord Jesus Christ. Your faith should not stand in the great ideas of the natural men. No human being can save you. When they die , they return to the dust. And their great ideas die with them. As for man, his days are as grass. As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over and it is gone. And the place thereof shall know it no more. But the things of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them who love Him. The Lord Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God. When we are among mature believers of Christ, we do speak with great wisdom, but not the wisdom of this world, nor of the kind that appeals to the great men of this world. The great natural men are doomed to fall. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, that God has ordained before the existence of the world for our glory. The wisdom we are speaking is God's secret wisdom , that is hidden from mankind, but which He has already chosen for our glory even before the world was created. None of the rulers of this world knew this wisdom. If they had not it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, eyes has not seen, nor ear hears, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him. No one has ever seen, heard, or even imagined what wonderful things God has prepared for those who love God. We know about these things because God has sent His Holy Spirit to tell us the wonderful things of God. The Holy spirit searches all things. The Holy spirit shows us the deepest secret s of God. God the Holy Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God's purpose. No one can really know what anyone else is thinking or what he is really like , except that person himself. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of man which is in him. It is only a person's spirit within him that knows all about him. In the same way only God's Holy Spirit knows all about God. Now we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Holy Spirit to tell us about the wonderful free gifts of love and blessing that god has given us. So then, we do not speak in words taught by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, as we explain spiritual truths to you. We speak not in words which man's teaches ,but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receives not the things of God because they are foolishness to the natural man. Whoever does not have the Holy Spirit can not receive the gifts that come from God the Holy Spirit. The unspiritual person really does not understand these gifts. They are foolishness to him because their values can only be judged on spiritual basis. But he that is spiritual judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct Him ? But we the mind of Christ.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

(1 Corinthians 12:1-31) Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be misinformed. You know that when you were heathen , you were led astray to dumb idols, however you may have been moved. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, Jesus is cursed. And no one can say, Jesus is Lord, and really mean it, unless the Holy Spirit is helping him. There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Holy Spirit give them. There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served. There are different abilities to all their particular service. The Holy Spirit's presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all. The Holy Spirit gives one person a message full of wisdom, while to another person the same Holy Spirit gives a message full of knowledge. One and the same Holy Spirit gives faith to one person, while to another person the power to heal is given the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives one person the power to work miracles; to another person the gift of speaking God's message ; and to yet another person, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Holy Spirit and those that do not. To one person the Holy Spirit gives the ability to speak in strange tongue , and to another person the Holy Spirit gives the ability to explain what is said. But it is the same Holy Spirit who does this. As the Holy Spirit wishes, He gives a different gift to each person. For as the body is one, and has many members and all the members of that one body, being many , are one body ; so also is Christ . Christ is like a single body, which has many parts; it is still one body , even though it is made up of different parts. In the same way , all of us, whether slaves or free, have been baptized into the one body by the same Holy Spirit, and we have been given the one Spirit to drink. As many as received Jesus, to them God gave the power to become children of God, even to them that believe on His name. Behold what manner of love God has bestowed upon us, that we should be the children of God. How great is the love that God has lavished upon us that we should be called the children of God. As children of God , enjoy family relationship with a vast number of brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. We are all part of the family of God. And we know God as our heavenly Father. In addition ,e are all made to be members of one body. We are members of the body of Christ with Jesus as our head. When you accept Jesus as the Lord of your life, Jesus baptizes you with the Holy Spirit. The body consists not only one member, but consists of many members. A head is not a foot. But that does not make it any less a part of the body. The ear is not an eye. But that does not make it any less a part of the body. And the eye can say to the hand , I have no need of you. And the hand can say to the feet, I have no need of you. If the whole body is only an ear, where shall be the smelling ? We need all the members of the body. God has set the members every one of them in the body, as it has pleased Him. Now there are many members but one body. And these members of the body which we think to be less honorable , upon these we give more abundant honor. The part of the body that seems to be weaker are treated with greater care. And the body's members that don't look very pretty are treated with special modesty that the more beautiful members do not need. God has put together the body of Christ in such a way as to give greater honor to those members who need it. And so there is no division in the body. And all the members have the same care for one another. And they love their neighbor as themselves. And when one member suffers , all the members suffer with the suffering member. Or when one member is honored , all the members are honored. And the members rejoiced with the honored member. Now you are the body of Christ, and members in particular. all of you together are the body of Christ, and each one is a member and part of the body of Christ. God has set the members in the body of Christ as it pleased Him. In the body of Christ , there are apostles, prophets, teachers, those who do miracles, those who have the gifts of healing, those who can help others, those who can get people to work together, and those who can speak tongues. God gives to some people the gift of working miracles. Some people are blessed with the gift of healing. Some people have the gift of speaking in tongues. Some people are blessed with the gift of interpretation of tongues. set your heart, however, on the more important gifts. Best of all is LOVE. It is love that you must strive for when you serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Without love your abilities and gifts are useless. When you use your spiritual gifts, you must remember to use them in the Spirit of love, because God is love. Christ's commandment demands only one solution. We are to love one another. While we strive to love one another, God does amazing things. God begins to gently fit all the members of His family together. The members are not the same, but it is their difference that allow them to fit together in love. The members of the body of Christ, who is blessed with our Lord's compassion have joined together with those who demonstrate our Lord's spiritual healing power. And the members who are blessed with the gift of teaching the Good News of Jesus Christ have merged with those members who are blessed with the gift of prophecy. The graceful unions of all of God's people unites the whole body of Christ in our Lord's love. But we are all part of the same body. We are all members of the body of Christ. And since God has decided to unite us together, we must learn how to love each other. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. And our Lord's way is a way of love.

LOVE

(1 Corinthian 13:1-13) Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is the way to love. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. God has shown His love for us, in that while we were sinners,Christ died for us. It is love lavished upon us without a thought whether we are worthy to receive it or not. Love is a gift from God. We are saved by the grace of God through our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. You are saved by God's loving kindness through your faith in Christ. It is not the result of your own efforts. It is a gift from God, so that no one can boast about their own efforts. Faith works by love (Galatians 5:6). If you have faith in Jesus, you will love Him. Jesus loves you. God wants you to know and benefit from His love now and in the eternity. Only in Christ can you find and experience God's love. Only in Jesus can you find the purpose for your life. Only in Christ can you find God's wisdom that will give you the ability to love. Jesus is the way to love. Everything Jesus said and did , we can use as a pattern for our lives. And we must try to live as near as our Lord's way of life as humanly possible with the help of the Holy Spirit. This is what Jesus said. The Lord your God is one Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, with all your strength. This is the most important commandment. The second most important commandment is this. Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment more important than these. Most people know very little about love. But they have not responded to the crucified and risen Jesus Christ. Do you have the love of the Lord ? Do you have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ that gives you an inner peace that surpasses all understanding ? In order to love Jesus, you must accept Jesus as the Lord of your life. You must let the Lord Jesus Christ take complete control of your life. Only then will you experience the Lord's love. Jesus will guide you. Jesus is the way , the truth, and the life. Jesus is gentle and meek. Jesus is humble. Jesus is very patient and kind. Jesus is not jealous. Jesus is envious. Jesus is pure in heart. Jesus is never proud. Jesus is never boastful. Jesus is unselfish. Jesus is not touchy. Jesus is not irritable. Jesus is very merciful. Jesus is very compassionate. Jesus seeks after peace. Jesus hungers and thirst after the righteousness of God. Jesus is not puffed up with pride. Jesus thinks no evil. Jesus rejoices not in evilness, but in righteousness and truth rejoices Jesus. Jesus said, A new command I give you. Love one another. As I have loved you, so must you love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another (John 13:34-35) Love is not fornication. Love is not lust. Love is not perverted sex. Flee fornication. He who commit fornication sins against his own body. What ? Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own. For you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) Lust destroys. Lust burns and consumes with corruption and destructions. Lust is selfishness. Lust is a thief that comes to take away life. Love is not lust. Lust comes from the devil. Lust brings death and destruction with fornication, selfishness, pride, greed, and wickedness. Love is not lust. God is love. A person will reap exactly what he has sown. Whatever a person sows, that he also reap. If a person plants evil seeds, he will receive evil seeds. If he plants seeds of evil desires from it will he receive a harvest of evil. And he will reap a harvest of spiritual decay and spiritual cancer and death. Now the work of the flesh are these: unfaithfulness, stealing, adultery, fornication, unclean thoughts, witchcraft , drunkenness, anger, fear , pride , idol-worship, murders, jealousy, lust, hatred, envy, lying and unforgiveness. They which do these things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. God has given you freedom, not freedom to do evil, but freedom to love one another. If a person plants seeds of love he will receive love during harvest time. The Lord wants you to live in the Spirit of love and peace. Therefore let be your greatest aim when you serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Love is very patient . Love is kind. Love is not selfish. Love is not irritable. Love is unselfish. Love is not happy with evil. Love is happy with the truth of God. Love never gives up .And its faith, hope, and patience never fails. Love does not hold grudges and hardly even notice when others do it wrong. Love hungers and thirsts after the righteousness of God. Love is pure in heart. Love is not glad about injustice. Love vaults not itself. Love envies not .Love is charity. Love is not easily provoked. Love thinks no evil. Love is humble. Love rejoices not in evil. Love is meek and gentle. Love is extremely kind. Love believes all things. love hopes all things. Love endures all things. love bears all thing. love never fails. Love comes from the Lord. Love is everlasting. God is love. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have no love, I am become as sounding brass, or tinkling cymbal. If I have not love, my speech will be no more than useless noise. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge ; and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. And if I give all my goods to feed the poor and have not love , it profits me nothing. And if I give my body to be burned and have not love, it will be vain and useless. Without God's love, you are nothing. Without God, you have no purpose in your life. God is love. love never fails. But whether there be prophecies, they shall fail. Whether there be abilities to speak in tongues, they shall cease. Whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then the that which is incomplete shall be done away. For our gifts of knowledge and inspired messages are partial. But when the perfect comes, the partial will disappear. When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were childish. Now I am a man, I have no more use for the childish ways. What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror. Then we shall see face to face. What I know now is only partial, then it will be complete - as perfect as God's knowledge of me. We can see and understand only a little about God now, as if we were peering at His reflection in a poor mirror ; Someday we are going see God in His completeness , face to face. Now I know is hasty and blurred, but someday I will see everything clearly , just as clearly as God sees into my heart right now. And we shall see God in our pure heart. And now these three lives in us ; faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

(1 Corinthians 14:1-39) It is love , that you should strive for. Let love be your greatest aim when you serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Set your hearts on spiritual gifts, especially the gift of proclaiming God's message. The person who speak in strange tongues does not speak to others but to God, because no one understands him. He utters mysteries with his spirit. But everyone who prophesies speaks to the people, for their strengthening, encouragement, and comfort. The person who proclaims God's message speaks to people and gives them help, encouragement, and comfort. He that speaks in an unknown tongue edified himself; but he that prophesies speaks unto the people and edifies the body of Christ. The one who speaks in strange tongues help only himself, but the one who proclaims God's messages helps the whole body of Christ. I would like all of you to speak with tongues ; but I would rather that you had the gift of proclaiming God's message. For the person who proclaim God's message is of greater value than the one who speaks in strange tongues - unless there is someone present who can explain what he is saying in the strange tongues, so that the whole church may be helped. Now ,friends, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine ? So when I come unto you , what use will I be to you if I speak in strange tongues ? Not a bit, unless I bring you some revelation from God or some knowledge or some inspired message or some teaching from God. And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp , except they give a distinction in sounds , how shall it be known what is piped or harped ? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle ? take the lifeless musical I instruments such as the flute or the harp - how will anyone know the tune that is being played unless the notes are sounded distinctly ? There is a need to speak in plain , every day language so that everyone can understand what is being said. So likewise you must speak words easy to be understood. How shall anyone understand what you are talking about if your message given in strange tongue is not clear ? For you will speak uselessly in the air. There are, it may be, so many kind of voices in the world, and none of them is without meaning. Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice , I shall be to him that speaks a barbarian , and he that speaks shall be a barbarian to me. Since you are eager to have gifts of the Holy Spirit, you must try above everything else to make greater use of those gifts which help to build up other believers. You must use your spiritual gifts to love your neighbour as yourself. You must use your spiritual gifts to love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. the Holy Spirit manifests God's love through each of us for the common good. The presence of the Holy Spirit is shown in some way in each person for the common good of everyone. Wherefore let him that speak in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What should I do then ? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray also with my mind ; I will sing with my spirit , but I will sing also with my mind. But when you give thanks to God in spirit o, how only, how can an ordinary person taking part in the meeting say, AMEN, to your prayer of thanksgiving ? He has no way of knowing what you are saying. Even if your prayer of thanks to God is quite good, the other person will not be helped at all. When you shall bless with the spirit , how shall he that occupies the room of the unlearned say , AMEN, at your giving thanks, seeing he understands not what you say ? For you truly give thanks well, but the other person is not helped. People who are unlearned in spiritual matters will not be helped if we pray in tongues only, because they will not understand us. It is better to pray with our understanding so that they will understand what we are saying. But when we pray in strange tongues , we should interpret, so that they shall know what we have said. It is better for you to speak a few easy words in order to help other people than to speak ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. We must not be childish in our understanding of spiritual things. We have to be mature in our understanding of spiritual things. speaking in tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. But prophecy and the preaching of the truth of God serves not them that believe not, but for the folks that believe. If the whole church come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there comes in that is unlearned, will he not say that you are mad ? But if everyone proclaim God's message when an unbeliever comes in to the meeting, he will be convinced of his sin by what he hears. he is the judge of what has been said. And thus are the secret of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face to worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. His secret thoughts will be brought to the open, and he will humble himself and worship God, confessing, Truly. God is here among you Jesus said, But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth ; for the Father seeks such to worship him. God is a Spirit ; and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth ( John 4:23-24) You must worship God with the help of the Holy Spirit. We must reach out to others in a spirit of love. We must love God with the help of the holy Spirit. By the power of the Holy Spirit, people will worship God as he really is, offering Him the true worship that He wants. God is a Spirit. And only by the power of the Holy Spirit can people worship God as He really is. No one can confess, Jesus is Lord, and really mean it, unless the Holy Spirit is helping him. The Holy Spirit shows God's love in each of us for the good of everyone. When you come together in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, one of you may have a revelation to share with the rest of the members of the body of Christ. Another person may have an interpretation f tongue. Another person may have a song to share with the other people. But it is the same Holy Spirit Who does all this for you. As the Holy Spirit wishes, the the Holy Spirit gives gifts to each person so that each person shall share his gift of love with other people. Everything must be of some help to all the members. Everything must be useful to all and build them up in the Lord. If anyone is going to speak in unknown tongue, let it be done by two or at most three. And someone else must explain what is being said. But if no one is there to explain what is to be said, then let the one who speak in unknown tongue keep quiet and to himself and God. Two or three may prophesy, one at a time, so that everyone will learn and all may be comforted. The gift of proclaiming God's message should be under the speaker's control, because God doe not want us to be in disorder. God wants us to be in peace and harmony with one another. God wants us to love our neighbour as ourselves. Let all things to be done decently and in order. All spiritual gifts must be used in a spirit of love. Your abilities would be of no use, if you don't use them in a spirit of love. God is love (1 John 4:8). We can only worship God if we love God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength. When we proclaim God's Good News , we must do it in a spirit of love. When we tell people about Christ, we must do it in a spirit of love. When we help others , we must do it in a spirit of love. When we reach out to our suffering neighbours, we must reach out in a spirit of love. In all things that we do we must do it in a spirit of love. we must let God's love shine out from our hearts with the help of the Holy Spirit. We must let God's love shine out from our heart to brighten the darkness of the world. Let the Holy Spirit help your love shine brightly in the darkness of your suffering neighbour's soul. Who is our neighbour ? All human beings are our neighbour. God is the Creator of the human race. God loves man. And God wants us to love one another.

LIFE IN GOD'S SERVICE

(Romans 12:21-22) Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy ,and pleasing to God - which is your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to the standards of the world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God. Then you will know what is good and pleasing to God. Do not think of yourself more highly than you should. Instead be modest in your thinking, and judge yourself according to the amount of faith that God has given you. For as we have many members in one body , and all members have not the same office. Just as there are many parts to our body, so it is with Christ's body. We are all part of it , and it takes very one of us to make it complete , because we each have different work to do. We need each other. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's spiritual gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve. If it is encouraging, let him encourage. If his spiritual gift is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously. If his spiritual gift is leadership , let him govern diligently. If his spiritual gift is showing mercy. let him do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Don't pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Don't be lazy. Be fervent in spirit of love. Serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in hope ; Be patient. Be prayerful always . Help those who are in need. Bless them who persecute you. Bless , and curse n Rejoice with that do rejoice. And weep with them that weep. work happily together. Don't try to act big. Don't try to get into the good graces of important people. But enjoy the company of ordinary folks. Be not wise in your own conceits. be honest in the sight of everyone. never pay back evil for evil. be peaceful with everyone. be not overcome of evil. Defeat evil with love.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

The fruit of the Spirit is God's expectation in our lives. In Matthew 13, Jesus told the parable of the seed and the sower . A man went to sow seed. As he scattered the seed in the field , some of it fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some of seed fell on rocky ground , where there was little soil . The seeds soon sprout but the soil wasn't deep . When the sun came up , it burned the young plants ; and because the roots had not grown deep , the plants soon dried up. Some of the seed fell among thorn bushes, which grew up and choked the plants. Some of the seeds fell on good soil, and the plants bore fruit, abundantly. So we are to bear fruit, as the Word of God begins to work in our lives in the power of the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit can produce the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit develops within us a character like Christ. God's purpose is that we would become mature people, reaching to the very height of perfection found in Christ. Blessed are those people who find joy in obeying the law of the Lord. And they study it day and night. They are like trees that grew beside a stream , that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do (Psalm 1:2-3). Jesus said, Abide in me, and I in you, as a branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine . You are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he bears much fruit ; for apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:4-5). But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith , self-control against such there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have put to death their human nature of flesh with its lust and evil desires. If we live in the Spirit , let us also walk in the Spirit. We must not be proud. We must not be puffed up in pride. We must not irritate one another. We must not be jealous of one another (Galatians 5:22-26).

SELF CONTROL

The fruit of the Spirit is self-control . Self-control is temperance. When a person has self-control , his thoughts and actions are under the control of the Holy Spirit. Self-control in our use of food is moderation. Self-control in matters of dress is modesty. Self-control in relation to sinful pleasure is abstinence. He who is so in anger is better than the mighty , and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city (Proverb 16:32). Those who live according to their sinful nature have their minds set on what nature desires; but those who lives in accordance to the Holy Spirit have their minds set on what the Holy Spirit desires (Romans 8:5). Self-control is very important. Every athlete is training submits to strict discipline, in order to win a prize that will not last. But we , believers, do it for a prize that will last forever. Run in such a way as to win the prize. That is why I run straight for the finish line. I harden my body with exercise and bring it under complete control, to keep myself from being disqualified after having call others to the contest. I therefore run , not as uncertainty; so I fight , not as one that beats the air. But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection ; lest by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway (1 Corinthians 9:26-27) God's divine power has given us everything we need to live a life that is pleasing to God, through our knowledge of Christ who called us to share His own glory and virtue. In this way God has given us the very great and precious gifts He promised, so that by these we might be partakers of God's divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world. And besides this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue. And to virtue, add knowledge. And to knowledge add self-control. And to self-control add patience. And to patience add godliness. And to godliness add brotherly kindness. And to brotherly kindness add love. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. These are the qualities you need. And if you have them in abundance, they will make you fruitful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

MEEKNESS

Meekness is the fruit of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness , terperance; against such thee is no law. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth (Matthew 5:5)< But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace (Psalm 37:11) Jesus is the source of our meekness. Jesus said, Come unto me, all you that labour and heavy laden , and I will give you rest ; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy , and my burden is light (Matt 11:28-30) The meek are happy, because they have peace. Until he was tamed by the Holy Spirit, Peter was a wild man. Peter was rough. But the Holy Spirit tamed Peter, and he became meek. Moses was also a wild man who needed forty years in the wilderness before he was brought under God's control. A wild man is of no use to God.. But God can use a meek person. Meekness is heart, soul, mind, and strength under God's control. Our Lord Jesus was a meek person. Christ is the way for us to go. Jesus is the perfect example and pattern for us to follow. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opens not his mouth (Isaiah 53:7) Meekness is love under discipline. Meekness comes from Christ. Meekness grows in the heavy atmosphere of hostility. This inward quiet strength is a growing work of the Holy Spirit. A meek person does not take revenge when his feelings are stirred up, as did Peter when he slashed the ear of the soldier at the arrest of Jesus in the garden. Jesus rebuked Peter for his ungodly behavior (Matthew 5:44). Jesus is meek and humble in heart. We must not crave to power over others. We are to serve others. We must desire that in all things Jesus Christ must be Lord. Do not think of yourself of more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment . Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Lifting the Lord Jesus Christ makes it possible for meekness to become one of virtues.

JOY

The fruit of the Spirit is JOY. Joy comes from God. The joy of the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 1:6) The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10) Jesus said, These things have I spoken unto you , that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full (John 15:11) God the Holy Spirit, filled us with joy regardless of circumstances. All the tragedies and troubles of the world can not stop the joy which the Holy Spirit brings into the human heart.

PATIENCE

The fruit of the Spirit is patience. Patience is long-suffering. Patience speaks of a person enduring ill-treatment without anger or thought of retaliation or revenge. Love is patient, and kind. Patience is compassion, gracious , and perseverance . Patience is the ability to endure weariness , ill-treatment, and persecution when doing the work of the Lord. You can be strengthened with all might , according to His glorious power , unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness (Colossians 1:11) Consider it all joy, my brethren, when encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance (James 1:2-3) The trials forces us to call upon the Holy Spirit to help us. We learn to draw more upon the source of God's strength that produce more patience which is the fruit of the Spirit. The regular exercise of patience and long-suffering in the small daily frustrations prepare us to endure when the great trials and persecutions come. We are to be patient in tribulation , continuing instant in prayer (Romans 12:12) God the Holy Spirit is always there, ready to help you win victory in your spiritual battles. Jesus tells us, By your perseverance you will win souls (Luke 21:19) Joseph had been sold into slavery by his brothers who hated him. Joseph had been wrongly accused by Potiphar who put him in prison. But through his trials , Joseph developed patience. The wisdom of God is pure first of all. It is also peaceful, gentle , and friendly. It is full of compassion and produces a harvest of good deeds. It is free from prejudice and hypocrisy. A goodness is the harvest that is produced fro the seeds of the peacemakers.

GOODNESS

Goodness is the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life. God is good. God is perfect in goodness. Now you are the light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light. Jesus is the Light of the world. For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth ; proving what is acceptable unto the Lord(Ephesians 5:9-10) Holy Spirit produces the goodness that comes from God . Goodness is love in action. Goodness is righteousness demonstrated in every day living in the Holy Spirit. To be good is to be like Christ Jesus. True goodness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Man's effort to achieve it own his own effort and work can never succeed. Man's work and effort are but filthy rags . Not only our bad habits and deeds are offensive to God. Even what we would consider our best human deeds and thoughts offend God as well. They are but filthy rags because by comparison with God's holy Character they fall so far short. Only the Holy Spirit can produce the goodness that is pleasing to God. Patience, kindness and goodness express our love toward our neighbor. It is love in action. It is loving our neighbor as ourselves.

KINDNESS

Kindness is the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life. Kindness is gentleness. Gentleness washes away all that is harsh. Gentleness is love enduring. Jesus is a gentle person. As followers of Christ , we must learn to be gentle and kind like our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible gives us good examples of gentleness of the three Persons of the Trinity. David said of God, You give me your shield of your salvation. And your right hand has held me up, and your gentleness has made me great (Psalm 18:35) In 2 Corinthians 10:1 , the Scriptures tell us of the meekness and gentleness of Christ. In Galatians 5:22, it is written about the gentleness of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was kind and gentle to everyone. Even the small children knew His gentleness and come to His eagerly and without fear. The servant of the Lord must not strive , but be gentle unto all men (2Timothy 2:24). The wisdom that is from above is first pure, the peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated ,full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17).
The wisdom from above is pure fruit first of all . It is also gentle , peaceful, and peaceful;. and friendly. It is free from prejudice and hypocrisy. And goodness is the harvest.

PEACE

Peace is the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life. Peace is rest in Christ who gives the believer unity, rest , completeness ,and security. The God of our Lord Jesus Christ...raised him from the dead, and ,made him to sit at His right hand in heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority , and power, and dominion, and every name that is named , not only in this world, but also in that which is to come (Ephesians 1:17-21). God raised up with Christ, and made us to sit with Christ in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace , in His kindness toward us, through Christ Jesus. For by His grace are you saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God - not of works , lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:6-9). What God's basis for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit ? It is the exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:23). Our sins are forgiven because Christ died for us on the cross. Because Christ is raised up to the throne, we are powered by the Holy Spirit. We didn't merit forgiveness. And we did merit the gift of the holy Spirit. We received everything not by our own efforts and works , but sitting down, not by doing but by resting in the Lord Jesus Christ. All spiritual experience begins from rest in Christ . The Lord Jesus Christ has done everything for us. And we now need only to rest confidently in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is seated in throne, so we are carried through to victory in His strength. Sitting describes our position with Christ in heaven. Walking is what we do here in the world. Are you walking according to God's will for your life in Christ ? Are you walking in the Spirit ? What a wonderful glorious hope we have because Christ is our hope . Come to Jesus, all you who are tired from carrying heavy loads and burdens . And Jesus will give you rest. Come to Jesus, all you who labour and are heavy laden. And Jesus will give rest Jesus said, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). In our sufferings and sorrows, Christ has come to share our burdens because He loves us. In the midst of the problems and wars of the world, you came have peace in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, Peace I leave you, my peace I give you (John 14:27). For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. he who has the Son have life. He who has not the Son has not life. Now will you accept Jesus into your life as the Lord and Saviour of your life ? If you accept Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of your life, the peace of God, which passes all understanding , shall keep your heart and mind through the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus is standing at the door of our hearts and knocks, saying, Behold , I stand at the door , and knock. If any man hears my voice, and opens the door , I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with me (Revelation 3:20)

FAITH

Faith is faithfulness produced by the holy Spirit in a believer's life. Faith brings positive results. To walk in faith brings glory to God. The person of faith is standing on the most solid foundation ,the Lord Jesus Christ. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Whatsoever is not faith is sin. God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it ( Corinthians 10;13). Trials and difficulties may pile up mountain high, but they only drive us closer to god. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though earth be removed, though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea ; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountain shake with the swelling thereof (Psalm 46:1-3).
Faith always acts according to the mind of Christ. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)
Jesus said, With man it is impossible, but not with God. For with God all things are possible(Mark 10:27) And whatever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do these things that are pleasing in His sight (1 John 3:22) Beloved , think not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happen to you (1 Peter 4:12) But rejoice, in as much as you are sharing Christ's sufferings, so that you may be full of joy when His glory is revealed. Our faith is greatly strengthened when we come to see that only God can help us and that only God is the answer to all problems and needs. But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19) Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1) To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for. To have faith is to be certain of that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we can not see it up ahead. It is by faith in God that people ancient times won God's approval. Through faith we understand that the worlds were created by the Word of God so that what can be seen was made out of what can not be seen.Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.(Hebrews 11:3) By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. Through his faith Abel won God's approval as a righteous man , because God approved of his gifts. And by faith he being dead yet speaks. Enoch trusted God. he was taken up to God, because he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please God; for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. BY faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his family ; by faith Noah became heir to the righteousness. Because his faith in God , Noah became one of those whom God has accepted. It is Abraham's faith in God. Abraham obeyed God when God called him to go out to a country which God had promised to give him. Abraham trusted in God. Abraham left his own country without knowing where he was going. By faith Abraham lived as a foreigner in a new land. He lived in tents as did Isaac and Jacob, who received the same promise from God. Abraham did this because he was confidently waiting for God to bring him to that heavenly city which God has designed and built, the city with everlasting foundation. Heb 11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with
him of the same promise:

By faith Abraham lived in the land of promise. By faith
he was a wandered in the land of agreement , as an alien.
He lived in tents like a mere visitor. Jacob and Isaac
were to share the same promise with him. God gave
Isaac and Jacob the same promise.
Heb 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Abraham looked for a city which has sure foundations. He
was looking for the heavenly city with foundations that
was built by God.
Heb 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received
strength to conceive seed,
and was delivered of a child when she was past age,
because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Through faith Sarah got strength and power to become
a mother . Faith enabled Sarah , barren till then to
conceive offspring. Even she was past the normal age for
child bearing, she trusted God to be faithful in His
promise.
Heb 11:12 Therefore sprang there even of one,
and him as good as dead, so many as the stars
of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

Abraham was very old and considered as good as dead.
From this very old man sprang so many offsprings as the
stars of the sky in multitude. There sprang from this
man such a multitude of people as the countless grains
of sand by the sea shore.
Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having
received the promises, but having seen them afar off,
and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and
confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the
earth.

These folks all died in faith, without receiving the
tangible fulfilment of the promise. But they saw the fulfilment of the promise from far away. They believed
in God's promise. they were persuaded that God is faithful
in His promise. They embraced the promise and they hailed it
with delight. These folks admitted freely that they were
strangers and pilgrims on earth. They confessed that they
have no permanent home on earth.
Heb 11:14 For they that say such things declare
plainly that they seek a country.

For these folks who say such things make it clear that
they are seeking a homeland.
Heb 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful
of that country from whence they came out,
they might have had opportunity to have returned.

If their hearts had been of the old country that
they had gone out of,they had the opportunity to return.
They had the chance to return to their old ways.
Heb 11:16 But now they desire a better country,
that is, an heavenly:
wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God:
for he hath prepared for them a city.

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly
country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their
God. Indeed God had prepared to receive them in a heavenly
city.
Heb 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried,
offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

Abraham was put to test. Abraham showed his faith in God
by offering his only begotten son Isaac as a sacrifice.
He who had received God's promises , was offering up his only
begotten son as a sacrifice.
Heb 11:18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
It was the son concerning whom it had been promised.
Through Isaac , the descendants of Abraham will be
traced.
Heb 11:19 Accounting that God was able to
raise him up, even from the dead;
from whence also he received him in a figure.

For Abraham believed that God had the power even to
raise the dead. Hence , Abraham did received him back.
Abraham did get him back as if from death.
Heb 11:20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and
Esau concerning things to come.

By faith Isaac gave Jacob and Essau his blessing
concerning things to come.
Heb 11:21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying,
blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped,
leaning upon the top of his staff.

Jacob had faith in the Lord. even when he was dying, Jacob
worshipped the Lord, leaning upon the top of his staff Jacob blessed both the sons of Joseph. They inherited
the promise from Jacob.
Heb 11:22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made
mention of the departing of the children of Israel;
and gave commandment concerning his bones.

By faith Joseph spoke confidently of God bringing the
people of Israel out of Egypt . He gave instructions
to bring his bones to the promised land.
Heb 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born,
was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child;
and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

The king ordered that all new-born Hebrew babies should
be killed. But the parents of Moses were not afraid of
the king's commandment because they had faith in God.
By faith , they hid Moses for three months.
Heb 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come
to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

By faith Moses , when he grew up , refused to be known as
a son of the daughter of Pharoah.
Choosing rather to suffer affliction
with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater
riches than the treasures in Egypt:
for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.

(Heb11:25-26) Moses choose rather to suffer the hardships with the people of God, than to enjoy the short-lived pleasures of sin.
Moses considered that it is better to suffer for the
Lord as greater riches than the treasures of Egypt.
Moses had fixed his gazed on the coming reward.
Moses wanted the heavenly reward.
Heb 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing
the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him
who is invisible.

By Faith , Moses foreshake Egypt . He did not fear
the king's anger. Moses was able to endure all the
dangers, obstacles, abd hardships, because he see
God who is invisible.
Through faith Moses established the Passover as the
Lord had instructed him. He followed God's instructions
to sprinkle blood on doorposts so that the destroying angel
should not touch the firstborns of Israel.
Heb 11:28 Through faith he kept the Passover,
and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed
the firstborn should touch them.

By faith the believers crossed the Red Sea as though
they were passing over dry land. But when the Egyptians
were chasing them to kill them, the Egyptians were drown.
Heb 11:29 By faith they passed through the
Red sea as by dry land:
which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

Heb 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down,
after they were compassed about seven days.

By faith the strong walls of Jericho collapsed, after the
children of Israel marched around it for seven days.
It is faith that brought the strong walls of Jericho
tumbling down.
Heb 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not
with them that believed not, when she had received
the spies with peace.

By faith the harlot Rehab was not put to death
with those unbelievers. She had faith in God and
received God's people with peace.
Heb 11:32 And what shall I more say? for the time
would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of
Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
There are many examples of faithful believers. Gideon,
Barak, Samson, Jephthae, David , Samuel, and the prophets...
Heb 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought
righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of
lions,

Men through faith conquered kingdoms, and ruled righteously.
The faithful folks received new promises from God .
They are kept from the harm in a den of lions. Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the
edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong,
waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies
of the aliens.

The faithful folks extinguished the raging fire.
They escaped the edge of the sword. These folks were
made powerful when they had been weak. They became
mighty in war. They proved to be mighty warriors and
chased away alien armies.
Heb 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life
again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better
resurrection:

Women had their dead folks restored by resurrection.
Other were tortured. But they did not give up their faith.
They did not accept deliverance to hell. They wanted
God to resurrect them after they had died.
Heb 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: Other folks stood the test of taunts and scourgings. They were exposed to public mockery and floggings. They were chained and imprisoned. They were stoned to death. They were cut in pieces. They were tempted to sin. They were killed with the sword. Because of faith, they wandered about clothed in skins of sheep and goats. Many folks became refugees with nothing but cheap animal skins to cover themselves. They lost everything. They were oppressed, persecuted, and cruelly treated. Because of their faith, they suffered in poverty , and in distress.
Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder,
were tempted, were slain with the sword:
they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins;
being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

They were too good for the world. The world was not worthy of
these good folks. They wandered in waste lands and mountains.
They lived as vagrants in dens and caves of the earth. They hid
themselves in caverns and holes in the ground.
Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. Though all these folks by their faith won God's approval, they did not receive the promise . None of these folks received the fulfilment of His promise. This is because the best part of the promise is yet to come. Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. God had something better planned for all of us.
All of us together will be made perfect at the same time. These faithful folks are waiting for us to be made perfect by God. All these people of faith , though they trusted God and won His approval, none of them received all that God has promised them, because God's purpose was that only in the company with us would they would be made perfect. God wanted them to wait and share the even better rewards that were prepared for us. Desperate situations is the very atmosphere of miracles. In great miracles, the condition is not only difficult but impossible for man. When we depend on human , world education, or organizations, will fail because we will get only what they can do. But if we depend o God, we will get what God can do. With man it is impossible, but not with God. For with God all things are possible. Faith may be cultivated by meditating upon the ways and works of God. You must believe in the Word of God , meditating the Word, and practicing it. If you want God to answer your prayers, you must do the will of God. First you must examine carefully whether what you are trusting for was something in accordance with His promise in his written Word. Faith does not come by waiting for it. Faith comes by using what you have. Often people wait for obstacles to be removed, when they ought to move forward as if there were no obstacles. Faith begins where sight and senses fail. Often to look is to fail. Jesus was walking on top of the water. And Peter was walking on the water toward Jesus. But when Peter look at the waves of the sea and when he took his eyes off Jesus, Peter began to sink into the sea of problems and troubles. If you have doubts and take your eyes off Jesus, you too will sink into seas of problems and seas of worldly chaos that are controlled by the devil. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Jesus said, All things are possible to him that believes Whoever believes that Jesus is Christ is born of God. All who love the heavenly Father also love His children. By this we know that we love and keep His commands. We keep His commandments because we love God. And His commandments are not too hard for us. For whoever is born of God is able to defeat the evil of the world. And we win the victory over the evil of the world by our faith in God. For by grace you are saved through in the Lord Jesus Christ; and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God ; not of works , lest any man should boast. Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on the eternal life. For it was to this life God called you when you firmly tell others of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We look not at the things which are seen for the things which are seen are temporal ; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18). We do not look at things we can see right now, the evil around us. But we look forward toward to the happiness and joy in heaven which we have not yet seen. The evil and chaos of the world will soon be over but the happiness and joy will last forever. Faith looks beyond the human and behold the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is taking hold of the Lord Jesus Christ and not letting go . We can trust Christ who died for us because He loves us so much that He gave His life for us. Prayer brings victory. Prayer means that in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ , we take what our Lord Jesus bought with His precious blood . There is only fellowship with God through His Son Christ Jesus. God answers prayers only through His Son Christ Jesus. Jesus said, I am the way , the truth , and the life. No man comes unto the Father , but by me . For through Christ we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father (Ephesians 2:18). If problems and troubles drive you to prayer , prayer will drive problems and troubles away. Jesus never taught His disciples how to preach. Jesus only taught them how to pray. Elijah prayed earnestly (1 King 18:42). Six times Elijah received a discouraging report. Most people would have stopped at the third of fourth time. And nearly all would have stopped praying by the fifth time. Not so with Elijah. Elijah had faith in his God. Elijah refused to give up. Elijah kept on praying. Elijah refused to be discouraged, even with seeming failures. Not until Elijah had prayed the seventh time was he rewarded. God does not answer cold or half-hearted prayers. Pray to the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. Jesus said, Whatsoever you shall the Father in my name, He will give it to you. Jesus said, You were faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things (Matthew 25:31). The Holy Spirit helps the believer to be faithful to his testimony , to be faithful to his commitments and calling, to be faithful to the commands of Christ. Jesus said, Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life(Revelation 2:10) You are God's building. Each person must be careful how he builds. For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation , and no other foundation can be laid. No one can confess Jesus is Lord unless he is guided by the Holy Spirit. If we allow the Holy Spirit to control all areas of our lives we will grow in our faithfulness to Christ and will produce good fruits.

LOVE

Jesus said, A new commandment I give you, Love one another . As I have loved you, so must you love one another. If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples (John13:34-35) The new commandment that Jesus gave to His disciples is that they must love one another. It is an old commandment in a new light. You shall love your neighbour as yourself (Leviticus 9:20). This commandment is an Old Testament commandment. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He who loves not his brother abides in death (1 John 3:14). Owe no man any thing, but to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For this , You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet ; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. Love works no ill to his neighbour. Therefore love is the fulfilling of the law (Romans 13:8-10). And above all things have fervent love among yourselves, because love shall cover the multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). Jesus said, Love your enemies , bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you (Matthew 5:44). Love is doing. For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them (John 15:13). God is love (1 John 4:8). Little children , let us not love with word or tongue ,but in deed and truth (1 John 3:18). We are to love as the Good Samaritan loved.(Luke 10:25-38). Love with deed and truth. Only the Holy Spirit working in our lives can produce such fruit of love. In the Old Testament, the man and women of God were examples and models of the type of persons that God would approve. Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, Samuel, David, Moses and the prophets of God were showing people how to love God and how to love their neighbours. But they were the perfect models and examples. They come short of the glory of God. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 2:23) In the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ the divine and human natures are united so that Jesus Christ is truly and properly God and truly and properly man. Jesus came into the world as a man. Jesus was the perfect man who has never sinned. Jesus is the true way to love. We follow Christ. We must love one another as our Lord Jesus Christ has loved us. Our strong love for each other will prove to the world that we are disciples of Christ. Jesus is the pattern for us to love. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Only Jesus can show the true way to love that will be pleasing to God. Jesus clearly commands us, As I have loved you, so must you love one another. As Jesus ha loved us, so must we love one another. Jesus is the true way to love. Such love is a testimony to the world. Love will glorify God because God is love. Such love points and shows people to Christ, because this quality of love can only be seen in Christ. Such love frees you from fear, anger, lust, greed, selfishness, and sorrow. Such love frees you from pride. Unsaved people will recognize the blessings of such love even though they can not produce it. Such love comes from Christ because Christ shines brightly in the darkness of the world. Such light brightens people's dark lives. Christ is the light of the world. Such love can only comes from Christ because Christ gives light to the broken hearted and the oppressed. Such love can only come from Christ because Christ brings hope to the captives. Such love can only come from Christ because Christ frees the those folks who are held prisoners by sin. Such love can only come fro Christ because Christ frees the destitute by giving them hope and love. Such love wins people to the Lord Jesus Christ because they shall know that such love comes from Christ. Jesus is saying to us, Even the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28). Jesus is not destroying the law but fulfilling it. Jesus is the true way to love and live. Jesus is our pattern to love. Jesus said, Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John15:13). The mark of the followers of Christ is LOVE. We must love one another according to Christ's examples and way. As Jesus has loved us, we must love one another. All people will know that we are followers of Christ if we love one another. We are to love one another for our Lord's sake, and according to His examples, by seeking what might benefit others and by promoting the cause of our Lord's Good News of love and peace. Apostle Paul wrote,
For as much as ye are manifestly declared to
be the epistle of Christ ministered by us,
written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the
living God; not in tables of stone,
but in fleshy tables of the heart.
( 2Corinthians 3:3)

You show that you are a letter of the living
Lord God ,
written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets
of stone but on tablets of human heart.
Clearly you are a letter from Christ .
The letter is written not with pen and ink ,
but with the Holy Spirit.
It is carved not in tablets of stone,
but in human heart.
You show that you are a letter from
the Lord Jesus Christ,
written not with computers but with the Holy Spirit
of the living God , not in computer tablets
but in tablets of human heart.
You are demonstrating that you are the Messiah’s epistle ,
written not with ink but with
the Spirit of the living
God , not in tablets of stone , but in tablets
of human heart.
It is clear that you are Christ’s epistle.
You are a letter
written not with ink but with the Holy Spirit .
You are a letter written not in tablets of stones
but in human heart.
You are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ,
written not with ink , but with the Spirit of the living of God, not in tablets of stones
but in fleshly tablets of the heart.
You are the living letter of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Your hearts are the substance which
God’s writing is made.
The Holy Spirit produces the love in your heart and the mark of love becomes the evident
to the world.
