INTRODUCTION

Mark was not an apostle , but he wrote
this gospel .
And when he considered the thing , he came
to the house of Mary the mother of John ,
whose surname was Mark ; where many were
gathered together praying .(Acts 12:12
)
Mark was a nephew of Barnaba. Colossians 4:10.
And he was also a spiritual son of Peter
The church that is at Babylon , elected together with
you saluteth you ; and so doth Marcus my son (1Peter 5:13).

JOHN INTRODUCES THE SERVANT

Mk 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of
Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

The beginning of the gospel is the same as
" That which was from the beginning.." (1John 1:1).
The beginning goes back to Jesus Christ at
the exact time when Jesus become human.
Jesus Christ is the Good News.Jesus is the Christ .
Jesus is the Messiah , the Anointed One,
the Son of God.The deity of Jesus is very important.
Christ's sonship and service are related . Because
He is the Son of God, Christ was able to do all
those miracles, including being a world Saviour. The
gospel is the good news of salvation through
Jesus Christ , the Son of God.
Mk 1:2 As it is written in the prophets,
Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,
which shall prepare thy way before thee.

Mark declares the coming of John the Baptist fulfilled
the prophecies of the person who would be the
forerunner of Jesus Christ.John fulfilled the
prophecies of the one who would be the forerunner of
Christ. John is the herald sent to prepare the people
for Christ's appearance. John is the last representative
of the old order . His duty was to introduce the
Lord Jesus Christ. John the Baptist , announces the
coming of Christ Jesus.(Mtt 3:1-12)
Malachi fortold the coming of Christ .(Mal 3:1)
Isaiah also fortold the Christ coming. (Isa 40:3)
God has sent a messenger ahead of the Lord Jesus to
open the way for Him.
(Mk 1:3) The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
John the Baptist was shouting in the wilderness,
"Prepare the way of the Lord , make his paths straight "
(Mk 1:4) John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach
the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
John's ministry was preparatory. John was preparing the
folks for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Repentance refers to an inner change of direction and
purpose. Repentance is turning from sin to righteousness.
Jewish baptism was a form of self-immersion. John proclaimed
the baptism of repentance. The believer is submerged or
dipped into the righteousness of God. John baptized because
of the forgiveness of sins.John appeared in the wilderness ,
baptizing and preaching . He told the folks ,
" Turn away from your sins and be baptized. And God will
forgive your sins."

(Mk 1:5) And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea,
and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him
in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
Many folks from all the land of Judaea and Jerusalem went
out to hear John. They confessed their sins , and John
baptized them in the Jordan River.
(Mk 1:6) And John was clothes with camel's hair , and with
a girdle of a skin about his loins ; and he did eat locusts
and wild honey .
John was set aside for this ministry. He was remarkable ,
not only in his message , but also in his clothing and in
his diet. God had called him to be a prophet. He did not
work in a temple . John was out in the wilderness .
And multitudes of people came out to him.
(Mk 1:7) And John preached, saying,
There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet
of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

John proclaimed as a herald , the fact of the coming of Christ.
John was humble before the Lord. He considered himself not
worthy to attend the Messiah even as a slave. Christ is so
much mightier than John . John considered that he was not
even worthy even to stoop down and unloose the straps of
Christ's sandals.
Mk 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he
shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

The real baptism is the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
The ritual baptism is the baptism by water . Baptism by
water is important because it is the believer's testimony.
The Lord Jesus was baptized because He wishes to identify
Himself with mankind.
Mk 1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that
Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized
of John in Jordan.
Jesus came from the obscurity of quiet training in
Nazareth of Galilee. Jesus came and identified Himself
with the sinners in His baptism.John didn't think he
should baptize Jesus. But the Lord Jesus said ,
" Suffer it to be so now..." (Matt 3:15).
This is the high point of John's ministry , when the one
who is mightier than he came to submit to baptism.
Why was the sinless Christ baptized with the baptism of
repentance ? Christ 's baptism is an deliberate act of
identifiction with sinners.
Mk 1:10-11 And straightway coming up out of the water,
he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove
descending upon him:
And there came a voice from heaven, saying,
Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

The Trinity are brought together here. The second
Person of the Godhead is the Lord Jesus . The third
Person of the Godhead is the Holy Spirit. Jesus saw
the heavens tore apart ,and the Holy Spirit like a
dove descended upon Him.And there came the voice of
God from heaven, saying,
" You are my beloved Son , in whom I am well pleased ".
God the Father identifies the Servant.
Mk 1:12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him into
the wilderness.

Immediately the Holy Spirit drives Jesus into the
wilderness so that He might be tempted . Can Jesus do
the job that His Father sent Jesus to do ? Other men could
not stand up under the temptation .They have all failed .
Adam failed . Noah failed. Abraham failed Moses failed. Moses
led the children of Israel out of Egypt ,but he was not
allowed to enter into the Promised Land because he failed.
Poor David failed. Elijah failed.
Mk 1:13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days,
tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts;
and the angels ministered unto him.

Jesus was tempted during the forty days. Jesus was tempted
of Satan all that time. Jesus was with the wild beasts and
the angels . And they both ministered to Jesus. The wild
beasts are part of creation. They are put under the dominion
of man. Here the wild beasts ministered to the Man Jesus
Christ.
Mk 1:14-15 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus
came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of
God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of
God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Jesus begins His ministry after the temptation . After John
the Baptist was put in prison , Jesus came to Galilee ,
preaching the Good News of God . The message of Christ is
the same message of John the Baptist.
Repent and believe in the Good News.
When you turn to the lord Jesus Christ in faith , you are
actually turning to Christ from something else. That's
repentance.
Mk 1:16-20 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he
saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the
sea: for they were fishers. And Jesus said unto them,
Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers
of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and
followed him.
And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James
the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were
in the ship mending their nets.
And straightway he called them: and they left their father
Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went
after him.

As a humble Servant , Christ called the lowly fishermen
to become fishers of men . At least four of the twelve
disciples were lowly fishermen. Simon Peter, Andrew, James
and John were fishermen. These men had believed earlier .
And now Christ called them to service (John 1:32-42).
Mk 1:21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway
on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue,
and taught.

It seemed that Jesus did not teach in Nazareth because
His own people would not receive Him . Jesus made his
headquarters in Capernaum during His early ministry.
Mk 1:22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he
taught them as one that had authority, and not as the
scribes.

The scribes were teachers and students of the written
and oral law . Their teaching was to quote the statements
of the scribes who had gone before them. Jesus spoke with
direct authority from God. They amazed at his manner of
teaching. Jesus spoke with the authority of God.
Mk 1:23 -24 And there was in their synagogue a man with
an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee,
thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us?
I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

This miracle is in the spiritual realm. Only God is in
control of the spiritual world. God has the power to
control and destroy the demons. The Lord Jesus has the
authority and power over everything . This is the
Lord's credentials. The Lord Jesus taught as One who
had authority. Now He showed that He also had power. He
was aware of Christ's true identity.
" I know who you are. You are the Holy One of God".
Mk 1:25-26 And Jesus rebuked him, saying,
Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried
with a loud voice, he came out of him.

Jesus told the demon , " Shut up. Come out of him".
Both commands calls for instantaneous compliance.
The demon convulsed the man as he left him. The demon
had torn the man.
Mk 1:27-29 And they were all amazed, insomuch that
they questioned among themselves, saying,
What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for
with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits,
and they do obey him. And immediately his fame spread
abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue,
they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew,
with James and John.

In this house , Jesus taught his disciples many wonderful
things.
Mk 1:30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever,
and anon they tell him of her.
The mother was sick. They were worried about her. They had
faith in their Lord Jesus. They told Jesus about the sick
mother because they knew that Jesus has authority and power
over sickness and disease .
Mk 1:31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted
her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she
ministered unto them.

Jesus had compassion on her . The Lord cured her and
she ministered unto them.
Mk 1:32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought
unto him all that were diseased, and them that were
possessed with devils.

It was wild. It was a riot. The sick wanted to be cured.
The possessed wanted to be free. Jesus is the Servant .
And one aspect of the Servant's job is to be a miracle-worker.
Mk 1:33-34 And all the city was gathered together at the
door. And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases,
and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to
speak, because they knew him.

The Lord Jesus has healed thousands of people , but Mark
recorded only a few isolated incidents. He would not let
the demons say anything because they knew who He is. The
demons were identifying Jesus as Christ the Son of God.
Mk 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while
before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary
place, and there prayed.

The Lord has set examples for us. Sometimes we need to get
away from our work and labour. We need get up really early
and to depart into a solitary place , and there prayed to
the Lord , so that we will confirm the Lord's instructions to
us..The Lord Jesus prayed to God the Father in preparation
for His preaching tour into all Galilee.
Mk 1:36-37 And Simon and they that were with him followed
after him. And when they had found him, they said unto him,
All men seek for thee.
Mk 1:38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns,
that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee,
and cast out devils.

The Servant's ministry was dynamic. He is filled with the
Holy Spirit. The Lord has challenged unclean spirits.
The Lord has preached in their synagogues throughout all
Galilee. And the Lord Jesus cast out devils.
Mk 1:40-44 And there came a leper to him, beseeching
him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him,
If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand,
and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy
departed from him, and he was cleansed. And he straitly
charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man:
but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer
for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded,
for a testimony unto them.

The leper who had faith in the ability of Jesus , begged
Jesus to make him clean. The man had been isolated from
everyone. Leprosy was contagious . No one wanted to touch
the leper. Jesus had compassion on the leper.
The Lord Jesus reached out to this sick man. Jesus touched
the leper and cleaned him.The cleansing of the leper was
to follow the ritual according to Moses.
Mk 1:45 But he went out, and began to publish it much,
and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could
no more openly enter into the city, but was without in
desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
The man did not keep quiet. The clean man became an
evangelist for the Lord Jesus. He went out and began
to publish the testimony of his faith. He put it in paper .
He blazed abroad the miracle that the Lord Jesus had
performed on him. This former leper had captured the entire
city . He had the attention of the entire city. Becaused
the healed man blazed abroad the good news , the enormous
crowd came , and the Lord Jesus had to withdraw from
Capernaum for a time. The Lord Jesus was so hindered
because of this sensation over the leper that He left
the city for a time.Jesus came not as a miracle worker
Jesus did not want this man and others to tell about
His miracles because Christ had come for a spiritual
ministry. Christ came to give His life to save the world.
Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world.

CHAPTER 2

Mk 2:1 And again he entered into Capernaum, after some
days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

After some days Jesus went back to Capernaum .The news spread
that Jesus was in the house of Simon Peter.
Mk 2:2 And straightway many were gathered together,
insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no,
not so much as about the door: and he preached the word
unto them.

The ministry of the Lord Jesus was to preach the Word of God.
Now the Lord preached the Word to them.
Mk2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the
palsy, which was borne of four.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press,
they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had
broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the
palsy lay.
A sick man was being carried on a stretcher by four man.
They could come near to the Lord because the large had
blocked the windows and doors. They broke the roof and
let down the bed where the sick palsy man lay.
Mk 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick
of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
The healing of the sick man with palsy was proof of the
deity of Christ , because only God could forgive sins.
It was the faith of these men that brought the sick man to
Jesus , so that the Lord Jesus could deal with him personally.
However , the sick man must also have faith in the Lord Jesus.
Today we need stretcher-bearers - folks with faith to go
and bring the unsaved so that they can the Good News of
Jesus Christ. They need to hear ,
" Your sins are forgiven".
Mk 2:6-7 But there were certain of the scribes sitting
there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man
thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

They thought to themselves,
" Why does this man thus speak blasphemies ?
Who can forgive sins but God only ? "
Mk 2:8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit
that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them,
Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Jesus knew what they were thinking , so he said to them ,
" Why do you think such things ?"
Mk 2:9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy,
Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy
bed, and walk?

Is it easier to forgive the sins of this sick man or to make
this paralytic arise and walk ? It is impossible for man to do.
Only God could do either.
Mk 2:10-12 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power
on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into
thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went
forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and
glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
The Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins , because Christ
is the Son of God.
The Lord Jesus told the sick man to take up his bed and walk because
the healed man would not have a relapse. The healed man would not
be coming back to the stretcher. The healed man was going to walk
from now on.
He jumped up from the sick bed , took the bed , and parade before
them all. Praise the Lord . It was a miracle , an act of God.
This was a miracle of action. They were all amazed . And they
glorified God . They never saw anything like this.
Mk 2:13-14 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all
the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting
at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me.
And he arose and followed him.
Jesus went back to the seaside . A crowd came to Him and He
taught them.
The Lord called Levi or Matthew to be a disciple. Matthew was
a publican, a tax collector for Rome .As a publican , Levi was
despised and counted as a terrible sinner. Levi was not a good
character because being a Jew , he should never have been a
tax-collector for Rome . However , Christ called this
tax-collector to follow Him. And he arose and follow Him .
God is merciful and forgives sins. By his amazing grace ,
the Lord changes the greatest sinners into holy folks.
Mk 2:15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat
in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together
with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they
followed him.

This Matthew fellow was amazingly alive. How often you go to,
the church and find so many lifeless folks there. No wonder
people are abandoning the churches. These places are spiritual
deserts.
This Matthew fellow threw a livily party for the Lord Jesus.
He did the smart thing , because he did not invite the
self-righteous folks to the party. The Lord Jesus was
sharing His food with publicans, tax-collectors, murderers,
thieves, and sinners and whosoever ;There were many people
who followed Him . The Lord welcomes them whosoever wants
to follow Him.
Mk 2:16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat
with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples,
How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and
sinners?

The self-righteous folks are always making trouble. They
are full of wickedness and sin . Why don't mind their own
business and take care first of their own sins. They think
they are more better than the sinners , but they are worse
than the other sinners.
Mk 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that
are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are
sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to
repentance.

Why did Jesus eat with the sinners. People who are well do
not need a doctor. But only those folks who are sick needs
a doctor . Jesus has not come to call respectable and
righteous people . The Lord Jesus has come to call the
outcasts and sinners to repectance.
Mk 2:18-22 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees
used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the
disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy
disciples fast not?
And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber
fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have
the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. But the days
will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them,
and then shall they fast in those days.
No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment:
else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old,
and the rent is made worse.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine
doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the
bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new
bottles.

Why do the disciples of the John the Baptist fast ,
but the Christ's disciples fast not ?
Do you expect the guests at a wedding party to go without food?
Of course not . As long as they have the bridegroom with them ,
they cannot fast. But the day will come when the bridegroom
will be taken away from them ; and then they will fast.
No person will sew a piece of new cloth on an old garment
because the new cloth will shrink and tear off some of the
old cloth , making the hole even worse.
Nor does anyone pour new wine into used wineskins , because
the wine will burst the skins, and both the skins and wine will
be ruined. New wines must be poured into fresh wineskins.
Mk 2:23-28 And it came to pass, that he went through the
corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began,
as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees
said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that
which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never
read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred,
he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house
of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat
the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests,
and gave also to them which were with him?And he said unto them,
The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
It is on this question of Sabbath day that Jesus broke with
the religious rulers. The Lord Jesus claimed that He was
the Lord of the Sabbath day. His disciples did not break
the law. They were merely plucking the corn and eating it.
(Deuteronomy 23:24-25).
Jesus pointed out that the Lord dealt merciful onto their
king David when he broke the Mosaic Law. When the law wrought
hardship upon God servants , God was merciful unto His
servant David and his men.
The sabbath was made for man . Man was not made for the sabbath.
The Law really is made for man and not man for Sabbath.

CHAPTER 3

Mk 3:1-5 And he entered again into the synagogue;
and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the
sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand,
Stand forth.
And he saith unto them,
Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil?
to save life, or to kill?
But they held their peace.
And when he had looked round about on them with anger,
being grieved for the hardness of their hearts,
he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand.
And he stretched it out:
and his hand was restored whole as the other.

Jesus healed multitudes . The numbers of healings are extensive.
Mark recorded only a small numbers for us.
The other incident concerning the Sabbath was on the corn field ,
which was a secular spot. Here it was Sabbath in the synagogue.
This was suppose to be a sacred place. The Lord Jesus had been
healing the multitudes.
These self-righteous and corrupted religious people planted this
cripple in the synagogue. They wanted to trap the Lord Jesus.
And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day;
that they might accuse him.
His enemies knew that Jesus was compassionate.
They wanted to accuse Him of breaking the Sabbath by healing the
man on the Sabbath day.
The Lord Jesus told man with the withered hand to come and
stand in the midst . Stand forth.
It is lawful to do good on the sabbath days.
It is unlawful to do evil. It is lawful to save life.
It is unlawful to kill.
And when the Lord Jesus had looked round about on them
with anger, He was grieved for the hardness of their hearts.
The Lord said unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand.
And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as
the other. You have to have faith in the Lord Jesus to heal
you. Like the man with the withered hand , you have do what
the Lord has asked you to do.
The Lord Jesus healed the man on the sabbath because the sabbath
is made for man and because the Lord Jesus is the Lord of the
Sabbath. As the Lord of the Sabbath the Lord Jesus is declaring
His qualification to interpret the law of the Sabbath.
The sabbath is not intended to be a heartless day that man
must serve regardless of the cost to man. The sabbath is
intended to meet man's need for rest.
Mk 3:6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took
counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy
him.

The Herodians were evil men who devoted politically to the
Herodian family. The Pharisees joined forces with the,br> Herodians to counsel how they might destroy Jesus.
Mk3:7-8 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples
to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him,
and from Judaea, And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and
from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great
multitude, when they had heard what great things he did,
came unto him.

The fame of the Lord Jesus was widespread. They had heard
what great things Jesus did . And they came to see Him.
Mk 3:9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship
should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they
should throng him.

The crowd was so enormous that the pressing multitude was
in the danger of crushing the Lord Jesus. A boat was
necessary to help Him get away from the pressure of the crowd.
Mk 3:10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they
pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had
plagues.
His popularity developed because the Lord Jesus had healed
many. The plagues had afflicted multitudes of folks.
These folks and other sick folks fell up the Lord .
Their desires to be healed pushed and thrusted them
forward to press upon him. They were throwing themselves
upon the Lord Jesus.
Mk 3:11-12 And unclean spirits, when they saw him,
fell down before him, and cried, saying,
Thou art the Son of God.
And he straitly charged them that they should not
make him known.

The demons acknowledged that Jesus is the Son of God.
The Lord Jesus did not want the testimony of the underworld .
The demons acknowledge who Christ was , but the
Lord Jesus did not want their testimony.
Mk 3:13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth
unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

The Lord chooses and ordains the disciples.
The Lord does the choosing .
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you ,
and ordained you , that ye should go and bring forth fruit ,
and that your fruit should remain :
that whatsiever ye shal ask of the Father in my name ,
he may give it you (John 15:16).

The Lord called and they responded to His call.
Mk 3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him,
and that he might send them forth to preach,
And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

The Lord ordained twelve disciples so that they
should be with Him. And the Lord Jesus taught them .
When they are ready the Lord Jesus sent them forth to
preach the Good News. The Lord Jesus will not go with
them physically. And they were given power to sicknesses ,
and to cast out devils.
Mk 3:16-19 And Simon he surnamed Peter;
And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother
of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is,
The sons of thunder:
And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew,
and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus,
and Simon the Canaanite,
And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him:
and they went into an house.

The names of the apostles were listed.
Mk 3:20-21 And the multitude cometh together again,
so that they could not so much as eat bread. And
when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold
on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

Then Jesus went home. The multitude was so large that
Jesus and His disciples had no time to eat. when
His friends of it , they went out to lay hold of Him ;
because they thought He's gone mad.
Mk 3:22 And the scribes which came down from
Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince
of the devils casteth he out devils.

Beelzebub was a pagan idol to whom the Jews ascribed
supremacy among evil spirit.
Mk 3:23-27 And he called them unto him, and said
unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom
cannot stand.
And if a house be divided against itself, that house
cannot stand. And if Satan rise up against himself, and
be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his
goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and
then he will spoil his house.

Satan can not cast out Satan. A kingdom can not stand
if the kingdom is divided. A house cannot stand if the
house is divided. Satan will not rise up against
himself . If he is divided he cannot stand but dies.
No one can enter the powerful devil's house , and spoil
his possessions, except he will first bind the powerful
devil ; and then he will spoil the devil's kingdom.
The Lord Jesus is not doing this by the power of
the devil.
Mk 3:28-30 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be
forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies
wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that
shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never
forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

The Lord Jesus is casting out demons by the power of
the Holy Spirit. They were accusing Him of casting
out demons by Beelzebub. The corrupted religious
folks were rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit
and the Lord Jesus Christ. They were blaspheming
against the Holy Spirit. The attitude of the
unbeliever that is unforgivable. He is resisting
against the Holy Spirit.
Mk 3:31-35 There came then his brethren and his
mother, and, standing without, sent unto him,
calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and
they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy
brethren without seek for thee. And he answered
them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
And he looked round about on them which sat about
him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same
is my brother, and my sister, and mother./b>
Any one who is in Christ is closer to the Lord
than his physical family. Forsoever shall do the
will of God , the same person is a Lord's
family member.
Mk 4:1 And he began again to teach by the sea
side:
and there was gathered unto him a great multitude,
so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea;
and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

Jesus went out of the house and entered into a ship
on the sea. This action is very symbolic. The house
represents the house of Israel. The sea represents
the nations of the Gentiles . Christ turned from
his own people and He goes to the world.
And he taught them many things by parables, and said
unto them in his doctrine,
Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the
way side, and the fowls of the air came and
devoured it up.
And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much
earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it
had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up,
it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up,
and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit
that sprang up and increased; and brought forth,
some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

There are four areas where the seeds fell .
Three areas represent the unsaved people who do not
accept the Good News. They do not accept the
Word of God. The Word fell by the way side in
their lives , where the devil like the birds
devour it . The Word fell on some people who
are like stony ground , where there is not much earth.
The sun withers it because there is no depth of soil
for it.
On thorny ground , the thorn choke it.
The Word fell on some folks who are like good ground.
The seed that fall on the good ground yield much fruit.
Mk 4:9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears
to hear, let him hear.

He who could hear the Word of God , let him hear.
And when he was alone, they that were about him with
the twelve asked of him the parable.
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know
the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them
that are without, all these things are done
in parables:

The believers are given to know the mystery of
the kingdom of God. But the unbelievers understand
nothing. They see but they don't perceive.
They hear but they don't understand. The unbelievers
will not understand the parables Those folks who
hungered and thirsted after the righteousness of God
would be filled. The believers will understand the
parables . Those folks who wanted spiritual truth
could have their eyes opened.
That seeing they may see, and not perceive;
and hearing they may hear, and not understand;
lest at any time they should be converted, and
their sins should be forgiven them.
The unbelievers may see , but they do not perceive.
The unbelievers may hear , but they do not
understand .It is your reception of the Word of God
that determines whether you are saved or whether
you are lost. If you accept the Lord Jesus Christ
as your Saviour , you sins will be forgiven.
And he said unto them,
Know ye not this parable?
and how then will ye know all parables?
The sower soweth the word.

The sower sows God's message.
And these are they by the way side, where the word
is sown;
but when they have heard, Satan cometh
immediately, and taketh away the word that
was sown in their hearts.

Some folks are like the seeds that fall by the
way side ; as soon as they hear God's Word ,
Satan comes and takes it away.
And these are they likewise which are sown on
stony ground; who, when they have heard the word,
immediately receive it with gladness; And have no
root in themselves, and so endure but for a time:
afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth
for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

Other folks are like the seeds that fall on rocky
ground. As soon as these folks hear the Word ,
they receive it gladly. But the Word does not
sink deep into them , and they don't last long.
They endure but for a short time. After when
trouble and persecution comes because of the
Word's sake , immediately these folks give up.
And these are they which are sown among thorns;
such as hear the word, And the cares of this world,
and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts
of other things entering in, choke the word,
and it becometh unfruitful.

Other folks are like the seeds sown among the
thorn bushes. These are the folks who hear
the Word of God , but the worries and cares
of this world , the deceitfulness of riches,
and the lusts of other things crowd in and
choke the word. And these folks become
unfruitful.
And these are they which are sown on good ground;
such as hear the word, and receive it,
and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some
sixty, and some an hundred.

And these folks are they who are sown on good
ground . Such people hear the Word of God ,
and receive it , and bring forth fruit ,
some thirty , some sixty , and some one hundred
.
Mk 4:21-22 And he said unto them, Is a candle
brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed?
and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is
nothing hid, which shall not be manifested;
neither was any thing kept secret, but that
it should come abroad.

This a parable of the candle and its action.
We were in the darkness until Christ ,
the Light of the world, got through to us.
A person who received the truth must act.
A person is responsible for the light that
was given to him. The person who is enlightened
with the truth must in turn enlighten others.
Mk 4:23-24 If any man have ears to hear,
let him hear.

And he said unto them,
Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye
mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto
you that hear shall more be given.

Pay attention to what you hear. With what
measure you judge others , it shall be measured
to you by God , but with even greater severity.
Mk 4:25 For he that hath, to him shall be given:
and he that hath not, from him shall be taken
even that which he hath.

He who has the truth , will be given more . The
person who has nothing will have taken away from
eve the little he has.
Mk 4:26-29 And he said, So is the kingdom of God,
as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
And should sleep, and rise night and day, and
the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth
not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of
herself; first the blade, then the ear, after
that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit
is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the
sickle, because the harvest is come.

This is another parable of action. It is about
the kingdom of God.In view here is the present
spiritual kingdom. The soil produces spontaneously.
The seed of the word is sowed. The contains life .
When the seed is sowed in proper environment,
the earth brings forth fruit of herself
automatically. The Seed of the Word when sown
in men's hearts produces growth and fruitfulness
spontaneously.
Mk 4:30-32 And he said,
Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God?
or with what comparison shall we compare it?
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which,
when it is sown in the earth, is less than all
the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown,
it groweth up, and becometh greater than all
herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that
the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow
of it.

The growth of the small mustard seed into a large
tree is unnatural. The growth of false Christianity
into big churches , large programs , and great
organizations are produced by human works .
This unnatural growth is not by the Holy Spirit.
The birds of the air that lodge under the shadow
of the tree are no good. These birds
represent Satan.
Mk4:33-4 And with many such parables spake he
the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
But without a parable spake he not unto them:
and when they were alone, he expounded all things
to his disciples.
Jesus preached his message to the folks , using
many other parables like these. Jesus told
parables as much as they could understand.
Jesus did not speak to them without parables.
And when they were alone , Jesus would explain
everything to His disciples.
Mk 4:35-41 And the same day, when the even
was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over
unto the other side. And when they had sent away
the multitude, they took him even as he
was in the ship. And there were also with him
other little ships.
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the
waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
And he was in the hinder part of the ship,
asleep on a pillow: and they awake him,
and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that
we perish?
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said
unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased,
and there was a great calm.
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful?
how is it that ye have no faith?
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to
another, What manner of man is this, that even
the wind and the sea obey him?
Jesus leaves off teaching . He was tired and goes
to sleep. And we find this miracle of the
Lord Jesus quieting the storm.
They were so fearful because they have no faith.
Jesus looked like a man but he was no ordinary man .
The Lord Jesus Christ is also the Son of God .
Of course , even the wind and the sea obey
the Son of God.
Mk 5:1 And they came over unto the other side
of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

The Gadarenes were descendants of the tribe of Gad,
who were given the land east of Jordan.
Now we see them in the pig business.
They were drifting away from God. The Jews were not
allow to eat pork . They should not be in the pig
business.
And when he was come out of the ship, immediately
there met him out of the tombs a man with an
unclean spirit,
The Lord Jesus saw a desperate man . The man
with an unclean spirit was a maniac.
But the Lord Jesus still saw a man. There was
hope for this man,who had his dwelling among the
tombs; These tombs where this man lived were
unclean places. The dead were buried there ,
and sometimes the rotten dead bodies were
exposed. This man was with an unclean spirit
and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
This man possessed supernatural strength.
He was a wild man. No one could tame him .
Because that he had been often bound with
fetters and chains, and the chains had been
plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken
in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
The man was suffering because he was possessed
by the demons. And always, night and day,
he was in the mountains, and in the tombs,
crying, and cutting himself with stones.
But when he saw the Jesus , the man worship Him.
The demons did not worship Jesus.
Only the man worship Jesus.
But when he saw Jesus afar off,
he ran and worshipped him,
And cried with a loud voice, and said,
What have I to do with thee,
Jesus, thou Son of the most high God?
I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Sometimes the man spoke and sometimes the
demon spoke. What does Jesus , the Son of the
most high God want with the demons ?
The demons knew that Jesus is the Son of
the most high God. They begged Him not to send
them to be torment in hell.
For he said unto him,
Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

Mk 5:9 And he asked him, What is thy name?
And he answered, saying, My name is Legion:
for we are many.

The man was trying to speak . He was saying ,
"My name is", but the demons took control of
the man's physical body .
And they said , " we are many".
There were a Legion of these demons that had
taken possession of the man. A legion of soldiers
consisted of six thousand men or more.
What a multitudes of demons that were working
against this poor wretched man !
We , in our own strength ,are not a match for
the demons ; but in our Lord Jesus Christ
we shall be able to stand against these
powerful demons. And he besought him much
that he would not send them away out of the
country.
The demons preferred swine to the torment
of hell.
Now there was there nigh unto the mountains
a great herd of swine feeding. And all the
devils besought him, saying, Send us into the
swine, that we may enter into them.
And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the
unclean spirits went out, and entered into
the swine: and the herd ran violently down a
steep place into the sea, (they were about
two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
And they that fed the swine fled, and told
it in the city, and in the country.
And they went out to see what it was that
was done. And they come to Jesus, and see
him that was possessed with the devil, and
had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and
in his right mind: and they were afraid.
The Lord Jesus did not command the demons to
enter into the swine. He permitted them.
The Lord did not cause destruction.
The demons caused the destruction.
In those days the pigs had disease .
The pigs were unclean. Under the Mosaic
Law the Jews were not allow to eat pigs.
Mk 5:16 And they that saw it told them
how it befell to him that was possessed
with the devil, and also concerning the
swine. And they began to pray him to depart
out of their coasts. And when he was come
into the ship, he that had been possessed
with the devil prayed him that he might be
with him.
When the folks found that they lost their
swine , they took a dislike of Jesus.
They cared more about their things than to
seek salvation for their souls.
Mk 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not,
but saith unto him, Go home to thy
friends, and tell them how great things
the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had
compassion on thee.
And he departed, and began to publish in
decapolis how great things Jesus
had done for him:

and all men did marvel.
The man obeyed the Lord's commandments.
He departed , and began publishing in
decapolis how great things Jesus had done
for him. The man became an evangelist.
And all men did marvel at the Lord,
Who could do miracles. All men
marvelled Jesus , but few followed Him.
The man joyfully proclaimed what great
things the Lord Jesus had done for him.
Mk 5:21 And when Jesus was passed over
again by ship unto the other side, much
people gathered unto him: and he was nigh
unto the sea.

Jesus went back across the lake. A large
crowd gathered close to him at the
lakeside.
Mk 5:22 And, behold, there cometh one
of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus
by name; and when he saw him, he fell
at his feet,

Jairus was one of the rulers of the
synagogue attended by Jesus at Capernaum.
Jairus fell down at His feet to beg Jesus
to help him.
Mk 5:23 And besought him greatly,
saying, My little daughter lieth at the
point of death:
I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her,
that she may be healed; and she shall live.

Jairus had faith in the Son of God.
He begged Him to come and lay His hands on
his daughter so that she could be healed.
Jairus had faith in the mighty power of
the Son of God.
Mk 5:24 And Jesus went with him;
and much people followed him, and
thronged him.

Many folks went with them . Most of the
folks were following the crowd. When they
are required to commit themselves to the Lord ,
the crowd will always disappear . Only a
few people will commit themselves to
the Lord.
Mk 5:25 And a certain woman, which
had an issue of blood twelve years,
And had suffered many things of many
physicians, and had spent all that
she had, and was nothing bettered,
but rather grew worse,

The women had hemorrhage for twelve years .
She had to see many doctors. She had
suffered many things under the care of
these physicans .Their prescriptions for
her did not work. She had spent all her
money , thinking that these doctor could
help her . Her money was all spent.
Nothing was bettered. She grew worse.
Mk 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus,
came in the press behind, and touched his
garment.

She believed that Jesus is the Son of God.
All things are possible with God.
Ask and you are given. She asked God
to heal her and she was healed of
sickness.
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes,
I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain
of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her
body that she was healed of that plague.
Mk 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself
that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about
in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

A multitude of people came to see Jesus . There
was a great crow of curious watchers . But only
one believer touched the Lord Jesus Christ in
faith for healing. Today the situation is the
same . Lots of folks use the name of Jesus freely.
They are running around like this crowd .
They know of Jesus , but they don't personally
know the Lord Jesus Christ . They have not
touch the Lord Jesus Christ in faith.
And his disciples said unto him,
Thou seest the multitude thronging thee,
and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked
round about to see her that had done this thing.
But the woman fearing and trembling,
knowing what was done in her,
came and fell down before him,
and told him all the truth.

For twelve years she had suffered this plague .
She was on the verge of death .She had faith in
the Lord and Lord healed her.
And he said unto her,
Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole;
go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Mk 5:35 While he yet spake, there came from the
ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said,
Thy daughter is dead:
why troublest thou the Master any further?

The religious folks had no faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ. They did not believe that
Jesus is the Son of God.
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken,
he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue,
Be not afraid, only believe.

The unbelievers are always afraid , because they
are lost. They have fear of the unknown. They are
afraid of death. Jesus knew of their fears.
The Lord Jesus told them not to be afraid .
He told them to believe only.
And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter,
and James, and John the brother of James.
And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the
synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that
wept and wailed greatly.
And when he was come in, he saith unto them,
Why make ye this ado, and weep?
the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

Jesus wanted only the believers to follow Him .
The multitude of people were left behind because
they did not have faith in Him as the Son of God.
Why were they making such an uproar ?
God is the Giver of life .
To the world the girl was dead .
But Lord saw that the girl was only sleeping.
The Lord can fix anything . The Lord can make
the dead come back to life.
And they laughed him to scorn. But when he
had put them all out, he taketh the father and
the mother of the damsel, and them that were
with him, and entereth in where the damsel was
lying.

The unbelievers are not invited to see a miracle
of God. The Lord took the parents of the girl
and the believers that were with Him.
These folks would be shown God's miracle.
Mk 5:41 And he took the damsel by the hand,
and said unto her, Talitha cumi;
which is, being interpreted,
Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
And straightway the damsel arose, and walked;
for she was of the age of twelve years.

The Lord Jesus Christ has the power over life and
death. The Lord Jesus brought the dead girl back
to life.
And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
And he charged them straitly that no man should
know it; and commanded that something should be
given her to eat.
What a wonderful miracle. The Lord Jesus Christ is
a Giver of life. After being sleep for a while ,
the little twelve years old child would be hunger
when she wake up . The Lord knows our needs .
Let the Lord provide for us . Let us do the
work that the Lord has appointed to us.
Mk 6:1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
Jesus went on another Galilean preaching tour
(Mark 6:1-30)
Jesus went out from thence. He left
Capernaum.Nazareth is his
own country.
Mk 6:2 And when the sabbath day was come,
he began to teach in the synagogue:
and many hearing him were astonished, saying,
From whence hath this man these things?
and what wisdom is this which is given unto him,
that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

His teaching and mighty works amazed those folk who
had known Jesus. This prompted their questions.
Mk 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary,
the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda,
and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?
And they were offended at him.

They had seen Jesus growing up as a boy in the town.
They thought they knew Him but they did not know Him.
That's their stumbling stone. They were looking at
themselves. They had no faith in themselves.
They did not believe that the Lord Jesus could in the snare of unbelief . They were trapped in their
unbelief . They missed their greatest opportunity
to become believers.
Mk 6:4 But Jesus said unto them,
A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country,
and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Mk 6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save
that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and
healed them.

In his own town Jesus could very little mighty work
because of the folk's unbelief . They saw him as
only as ordinary fellow. Faith is the requirement
to release God's power in salvation.

Mk 6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief.
And he went round about the villages, teaching.
unbelief . Unbelievers are dying in their unbelief .
The Lord wasted no more time on the massive crowd of
unbelievers. The Lord went about the villages ,
seeking the believers and teaching them.
The Lord was preparing the believers to take over
His earthly duties.
Mk 6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began
to send them forth by two and two; and gave them
power over unclean spirits;

The Lord called the twelve disciples and began to sent
them forth two by two. The Lord gave them power over
unclean spirits.
Mk 6:8 And commanded them that they should take
nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip,
no bread, no money in their purse:
Mk 6:9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.

Why this command ? Travelling light is important .
They must depend on the Lord for their every need.
The success of their important mission depended
entirely upon the Lord. They were only going after
the lost folks . They were not required to take
extra baggage . They were to accept the hospitality
of the believers.
Mk 6:10 And he said unto them,
In what place soever ye enter into an house,
there abide till ye depart from that place.

Wherever you are welcomed stay in the same house
until you leave the house.
Mk 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you,
nor hear you, when ye depart thence,
shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony
against them. Verily I say unto you,
It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha
in the day of judgment, than for that city.
This was a serious and solemn mission. This was
the first time they had gone out without Christ.
They had advanced in their training. They were being
training in the practice of faith to be on their own.
They were to take nothing on their journey.
Shake off the dust is a testimony to show the
seriousness of rejecting the Good News of Christ.
Mk 6:12 And they went out, and preached that men
should repent. Mk 6:13 And they cast out many devils,
and anointed with oil many that went sick, and
healed them.
John the Baptist also preached that men should repent.
But the believers of the Lord Jesus Christ had been
given additional power to cast out many devils and to
heal the sick.
Mk 6:14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name
was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist
was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works
do shew forth themselves in him.

Herod was responsible for the death of John the Baptist .
Mk 6:15 Others said, That it is Elias.
And others said, That it is a prophet,
or as one of the prophets.

There was different reactions among the folks about
the Lord Jesus as to who He was.Today is the same .
Some thought Jesus was Elias.
Other thought Jesus was a prophet.
Mk 6:16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said,
It is John, whom I beheaded:
he is risen from the dead.

Herod was afraid because he had murdered John .
He thought that John had been raised from the dead.
Mk 6:17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid
hold upon John, and bound him in prison for
Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife:
for he had married her.

For John had said unto Herod,
It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
There was sin in high places. John denounced Herod
for taking his brother's wife. This enraged Herodias
and caused her to seek John's death.
Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and
would have killed him; but she could not:
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just
man and an holy, and observed him; and when he
heard him, he did many things, and heard him
gladly.
Herodias had kept Herod from turning to God.
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on
his birthday made a supper to his lords,
high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in,
and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat
with him, the king said unto the damsel,
Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will
give it thee.
Herod was a lecherous ,lustful old man. He gave
in to his daughter's sexy dancing and gave her
a blank check. She could ask anything she wanted.
The mother had prepared for all this.
And he sware unto her,
Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give
it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
And she went forth, and said unto her mother,
What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
Mk 6:25 And she came in straightway with
haste unto the king, and asked, saying,
I will that thou give me by and by in a
charger the head of John the Baptist.
And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for
his oath's sake, and for their sakes which
sat with him, he would not reject her.
Herod cared about the opinion of men. Herod
did not cared about God's opinion which was
more important. Herod had a false sense of
values about an oath.He did foolish and
unrighteous things to please men.
And immediately the king sent an executioner,
and commanded his head to be brought:
and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
And brought his head in a charger, and gave
it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it
to her mother.
He cared about an oath before his friends.
He wanted to be honorable in cold-blooded
murder.
And when his disciples heard of it,
they came and took up his corpse,
and laid it in a tomb.
The disciples took the corpse and buried it
in a tomb.
Mk 6:30 And the apostles gathered
themselves together unto Jesus, and told him
all things, both what they had done, and what
they had taught.
Mk 6:31 And he said unto them,
Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place,
and rest a while:
They had to withraw to a uninhabited place in
an attempt to get some rest for there were
many coming and going, and they had no
leisure so much as to eat.
But it was futile to find a desert place to
be alone. The crowd followed them everywhere.
Mk 6:32 And they departed into a desert
place by ship privately. And the people
saw them departing, and many knew him,
and ran afoot thither out of all cities,
and outwent them, and came together unto him.
When they landed, the crowd was waiting for
them And Jesus, when he came out, saw much
people, and was moved with compassion
toward them, because they were as sheep
not having a shepherd: and he began to
teach them many things. The Lord Jesus commanded them to do the
impossible task. The Lord always
commands the impossible. We must learn
that it is the Lord. It is the Lord who
has done.It is the Lord Who will do it.
And when the day was now far spent,
his disciples came unto him, and said,
This is a desert place, and now the time
is far passed: Send them away, that
they may go into the country round about,
and into the villages, and buy
themselves bread: for they have nothing
to eat.
He answered and said unto them,
Give ye them to eat.
And they say unto him,
Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth
of bread, and give them to eat?
He saith unto them,
How many loaves have ye? go and see.
And when they knew, they say,
Five, and two fishes.
And he commanded them to make all sit down by
companies upon the green grass.
And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds,
and by fifties.
And when he had taken the five loaves and
the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and
blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them
to his disciples to set before them;
and the two fishes divided he among them all.
And they did all eat, and were filled.

The Lord Jesus performed another miracle.
The Lord can multiply food . With two fishes
and five loaves of bread , the Lord Jesus
could feed five thousand men.Not only did the
five thousand men ate to their fill they
even took up twelve baskets full of the
fragments, and of the fishes.
Mk6:44 And they that did eat of the loaves
were about five thousand men.

Mk 6:45 And straightway he constrained his
disciples to get into the ship, and to go to
the other side before unto Bethsaida, while
he sent away the people.

Only after the Lord Jesus had taken care of
the people's physical needs before He would
leave them.
And when he had sent them away, he departed
into a mountain to pray.
And when even was come, the ship was in the
midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
And he saw them toiling in rowing;
for the wind was contrary unto them:
That is still happening today. Folks are
toiling in rowing in the midst of the sea
of problems and hardship. The wind is
contrary to them. They are facing temptations
and problems that are too great for them to
bear. They may feel that their little ship
is going down.
Fear not . The Lord sees you . The Lord Jesus
knows that you are toiling in your sea of
problems. The Lord Jesus was watching them
and about the fourth watch of the night he
cometh unto them, walking upon the sea,
and would have passed by them.
Jesus did not wish to scare them.
Sometimes the miracle of God would scare
some folks. It seemed that Jesus would
have passed by them , but the truth was that
Jesus did not wish to scare them.
But when they saw him walking upon the sea,
they supposed it had been a spirit,
and cried out:
For they all saw him, and were troubled.
They thought that they had seen a ghost.
The Lord Jesus knew that they were scared.
And immediately he talked with them, and
saith unto them,
Be of good cheer:
it is I;
be not afraid.

The Lord Jesus would not harm them.
He gave them courage. He assured them of
His good intentions. They need not to be
afraid.
And he went up unto them into the ship;
and the wind ceased:
and they were sore amazed in themselves
beyond measure, and wondered.
They were not believers. They did not
think that Jesus is the Son of God.
For they considered not the miracle of
the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
Their heart was hardened with unbelief.
They could not see that the miracle of
the loaves was an act of God.
Mk 6:53 And when they had passed over,
they came into the land of Gennesaret,
and drew to the shore.
And when they were come out of the ship,
straightway they knew him,
And ran through that whole region round
about, and began to carry about in beds
those that were sick, where they heard he was.
Mk 6:56 And whithersoever he entered, into
villages, or cities, or country,
they laid the sick in the streets, and
besought him that they might touch if
it were but the border of his garment:
and as many as touched him were made
whole.
They came to Him , not because they believed
that He was the Son of God. The sick came
because they wanted to be healed. How many
people believed in Him after they were healed?
Mk 7:1 Then came together unto him the
Pharisees, and certain of the scribes,
which came from Jerusalem. And when they
saw some of his disciples eat bread with
defiled, that is to say, with unwashen,
hands, they found fault.

The Lord Jesus had made such an impression
that the religious folks from Jerusalem came
down to check Him out.
And when they saw some of his disciples eat
bread with defiled, that is to say, with
unwashen, hands, they found fault.
The scribes and Pharisees were His enemies.
They seeked to destroy Him. They tried to
find excuses to discredit Him and His work.
Mk 7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews,
except they wash their hands oft, eat not,
holding the tradition of the elders.

And when they come from the market, except
they wash, they eat not. And many other
things there be, which they have received
to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots,
brasen vessels, and of tables.
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him,
Why walk not thy disciples according to
the tradition of the elders, but eat
bread with unwashen hands?
There are two groups. One group put their
trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Another group
reject Him. The important thing is not whether
you are a member of of a church organization
or have gone through some ceremony and rituals.
The important thing is your relationship to
the Lord Jesus Christ.
This special wicked delegation from Jerusalem
had been sent to Galilee to spy on Jesus.
The self-righteous folks cared more about
outward appearances than spiritual things.
They ignored the more important spiritual
matters.
They wasted their time washing their hands
and washing of cups , and pots , brasen
vessels , and of tables.
The man made traditions are of men . These
traditions came not from God. These
traditions of men were burdensome to the
folks . They baptized cups, pots, brasen
objects and vessels , tables. They were
so busy with their traditions that they
forgot the Lord.
Mk 7:6 He answered and said unto them,
Well hath Esaias prophesied of you
hypocrites, as it is written, This people
honoureth me with their lips, but their
heart is far from me.
A hypocrite is a person acting a part.They
were acting as if they were worshipping the
Lord . They were acting with their lips ,
pretending to be people of God , but their
hearts were from the devil . And their
teeth are pangs ,that were ever ready to
strike the inocent folks. Their heart is
far from the Lord.
Howbeit in vain do they worship me,
teaching for doctrines the commandments
of men.

It is useless for these folks to worship
the Lord , because they teaches for
doctrines the commandments of men.
For laying aside the commandment of God,
ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing
of pots and cups: and many other such like
things ye do. And he said unto them, Full
well ye reject the commandment of God, that
ye may keep your own tradition.

They laid aside the commandment of God .
And they held the tradition of men as
washing of pots and cups . They wasted
their time baptizing left and right.
They even baptized the tables and chairs.
They completely rejected the commandement
of God so that they could keep their own
man-made tradition. They substitude a
creed for the Word of God. They substitude
the word of men, the traditions of men ,
the thinking men ,the rituals of men
and the men's denominations .
Before long they rejected the Word of God.
Mk 7:10 For Moses said,
Honour thy father and thy mother;
and, Whoso curseth father or mother,
let him die the death:
But ye say,
If a man shall say to his father or mother,
It is Corban, that is to say, a gift,
by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
he shall be free.

Jesus gave them example of what they were doing. their father and mother. But in their traditions ,
they man-made a creed to escape the
responsibility to their parents. If a heartless
person did not wish to help his mother and
father , he would dedicate a gift called
Corban to the priest . This man-made creed
would relieve him of his responsibility
to his parents. And ye suffer him no more to do ought for
his father or his mother;
Making the word of God of none effect through
your tradition, which ye have delivered:
and many such like things do ye.

They rejected the Word of God. And they followed
their tradition.
Mk 7:14 And when he had called all the people
unto him, he said unto them,Hearken unto me
every one of you, and understand:
There is nothing from without a man, that entering
into him can defile him: but the things which
come out of him, those are they that defile
the man.
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Eating or refrain from eating will not make you
spiritual . Food will not defile a person.
The things which come out of a person come from
the heart. The wicked things which are in the
heart of man defile the man.
Mk 7:17-23 And when he was entered into the
house from the people, his disciples asked
him concerning the parable.
And he saith unto them,
Are ye so without understanding also?
Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing
from without entereth into the man,
it cannot defile him; Because it entereth
not into his heart, but into the belly,
and goeth out into the draught,
purging all meats?
And he said,
That which cometh out of the man,
that defileth the man.
It is what comes out of a person that makes
him unclean.
For from within, out of the heart of men,
proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications,
murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit,
lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride,
foolishness: All these evil things come from
within, and defile the man.
All these evil things come from within and make
the man unclean.

Mk 7:24-30 And from thence he arose, and went
into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered
into an house, and would have no man know it:
but he could not be hid. For a certain woman,
whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, hear
of him, and came and fell at his feet:
The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation;
and she besought him that he would cast forth
the devil out of her daughter.
But Jesus said unto her,
Let the children first be filled:
for it is not meet to take the children's bread,
and to cast it unto the dogs.
And she answered and said unto him,
Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of
the children's crumbs. And he said unto her,
For this saying go thy way;
the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
And when she was come to her house, she found
the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon
the bed.

This woman came to Jesus in faith. She was a
Greek from Tyre.
Jesus answered the faith of this woman .
He casted out the devil.
Mk 7:31 And again, departing from the
coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto
the sea of Galilee, through the midst of
the coasts of Decapolis.
This district contains ten cities.
And they bring unto him one that was deaf,
and had an impediment in his speech;
and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
And he took him aside from the multitude, and
put his fingers into his ears, and he spit,
and touched his tongue;
And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith
unto him,
Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
And straightway his ears were opened, and the
string of his tongue was loosed, and he
spake plain.
And he charged them that they should tell no man:
but the more he charged them, so much the
more a great deal they published it;
And were beyond measure astonished, saying,
He hath done all things well: he maketh both
the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

The man's ears were first opened so that he
could hear .Then his tongue was loosed and he
spoke plainly.
The Lord Jesus could make both the deaf to hear ,
and the dumb to speak .
The Lord Jesus Christ has done all things well.
Mk 8:1-9 In those days the multitude being
very great, and having nothing to eat,
Jesus called his disciples unto him, and
saith unto them,
I have compassion on the multitude,
because they have now been with me three
days, and have nothing to eat:
And if I send them away fasting to their
own houses, they will faint by the way:
for divers of them came from far.
And his disciples answered him,
From whence can a man satisfy these men
with bread here in the wilderness?
And he asked them,
How many loaves have ye?
And they said, Seven.
And he commanded the people to sit down on
the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and
gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his
disciples to set before them;
and they did set them before the people.
And they had a few small fishes:
and he blessed, and commanded to set them
also before them. So they did eat, and
were filled:
and they took up of the broken meat
that was left seven baskets.
And they that had eaten were about four
thousand: and he sent them away.

The crowd had been with the Lord for three days.
The Lord had compassion on them because they
had nothing to eat for three days. This second
time we see that the Lord Jesus supernaturally
fed thousands of hungry folks. The hungry folks
had followed Jesus to hear His teaching.
They came out not because of the physical
food. They had followed Him out into the
desert place where supplies were not readily
accessible.
Mk 8:10-16 And straightway he entered into
a ship with his disciples, and came into the
parts of Dalmanutha.
And the Pharisees came forth, and began to
question with him, seeking of him a sign
from heaven, tempting him.
And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith,
Why doth this generation seek after a sign?
verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be
given unto this generation.
And he left them, and entering into the ship
again departed to the other side.
Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread,
neither had they in the ship with them more
than one loaf.
And he charged them, saying,
Take heed, beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

Leaven represented evil. leaven is mixing the
wrong teaching with the gospel .Leaven is the
evil placed in the bread to make it taste good.
Jesus warned His followers about the wrong
teachings of the Pharisees and of Herod.
Mk 8:17 And when Jesus knew it,
he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye
have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither
understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears,
hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

They had been with the Lord for quite a long
time. They had missed the entire thought.
They did not get it.They had ears yet
they did not hear.
Mk 8:19 When I brake the five loaves among
five thousand, how many baskets full of
fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
And when the seven among four thousand, how
many baskets full of fragments took ye up?
And they said, Seven. And he said unto them,
How is it that ye do not understand?

The Lord Jesus was not talking about physical
bread. The Lord was talking about the Bread
of life. The Word of God is the Bread of life.
Jesus is the Word . And the Word was made flesh.
The Lord Jesus proclaims ,
" I am the Bread of life ". We are to feed on the Word of God
and beware of false teaching.
Mk 8:22 And he cometh to Bethsaida;
and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought
him to touch him. And he took the blind man by
the hand, and led him out of the town;
and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his
hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
And he looked up, and said,
I see men as trees, walking.
After that he put his hands again upon his eyes,
and made him look up: and he was restored,
and saw every man clearly. And he sent him away
to his house, saying, Neither go into the town,
nor tell it to any in the town.

The man was blind. Then he gained partial sight.
Is this our condition today ?
" For now we see through a glass darkly ;
but then face to face..."(1Cor 13:12).

When the Lord Jesus had finished He healed the
man perfectly.
He was blind ; now he could see.
We had been spiritually blind; now we can see .
We will get our perfect vision when we come
into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mk 8:27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples,
into the towns of Caesarea Philippi:
and by the way he asked his disciples,
saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?

Who is Jesus ?
Jesus wants his disciples to know men's view of Him.
Mk 8:28 And they answered,
John the Baptist:
but some say, Elias;
and others, One of the prophets.

It is the same story today.
Ask people the same question , Who is Jesus ?
Some folks will answer , One of the prophets.
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Peter answereth and saith unto him,
Thou art the Christ.

The believers will tell the Lord Jesus,
" You are the Christ"
Christ is not a name . Jesus is His name.
Christ is a title .
Christ is the Messiah , the anointed One.
Mk 8:30 And he charged them that they should
tell no man of him.
He tell them not tell no one about Him.
They were to wait until the gospel story was
complete before they could reveal His true identity.
Mk 8:31-33 And he began to teach them,
that the Son of man must suffer many things,
and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief
priests, and scribes, and be killed, and
after three days rise again.

Salvation depends on who Jesus is and what He did.
Salvation depends on His work of redemption.
Jesus must pay for our sins with His life.
He was killed . After three day He rose again
And He defeated the sting of death for the believers.
And he spake that saying openly.
And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
They were unprepared to receive what
the Lord Jesus was saying. Peter had other ideas
that were out of God's plans for salvation.
But when he had turned about and looked on his
disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying,
Get thee behind me, Satan:
for thou savourest not the things that be of God,
but the things that be of men.

Jesus attributed the influence to Satan.
Satan denies the value of Christ's death .
Mk8-34-38 And when he had called the people unto
him with his disciples also, he said unto them,
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it;
but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and
the gospel's, the same shall save it.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the
whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my
words in this adulterous and sinful generation;
of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when
he cometh in the glory of his Father with the
holy angels.
The Lord Jesus only spoke of His work of redemption.
The Lord is stating the position of those folks who
claim to follow Him.
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me...
Those folks who are ashamed of the Lord and
His words , they will not go to heaven.
These folks will go to hell.
Mk 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That there be some of them that stand here,
which shall not taste of death, till they have
seen the kingdom of God come with power.

The kingdom of God is the Lord's hands. But he has
chosen to pay for the penalty of our sins by dying
for us.
Before they die , some blessed believers will be
witnesses of the power and the coming of the Lord .
And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and
James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high
mountain apart by themselves: and he was
transfigured before them.

Jesus had to carry them along like babies. Jesus led them up.
The transfiguration took place in the body of Jesus.
And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow;
so as no fuller on earth can white them.
No modern miracle can produce such brightness.
All of this brightness came from within Jesus.
And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses:
and they were talking with Jesus.

Elijah represents the prophets . Moses represents the Law.
Both the prophets and the Law bore the testimony
of the death of Jesus. Moses knew Jesus was coming.
(Hebrews 11:26)
The prophets spoke of the suffering of Christ and the
glory that should come.
And Peter answered and said to Jesus,
Master, it is good for us to be here:
and let us make three tabernacles;
one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

Peter spoke when he didn't know what he was saying.
He said all the wrong things.
Mk 9:7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them:
and a voice came out of the cloud, saying,
This is my beloved Son: hear him.

God the Father spoke.
Christ is God's beloved Son, who is the Word.
Hear the Word. Hear Him.
And suddenly, when they had looked round about,
they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with
themselves.
Only Jesus. Hear only Jesus. Hear only the Word.
Mk 9:9 And as they came down from the mountain,
he charged them that they should tell no man what
things they had seen, till the Son of man were
risen from the dead.

The purpose of this revelation points to the death
and resurrection of Christ .The prophets and the Law
spoke of Christ and His resurrection .
God spoke of Christ in His plan to save the world.
Mk 9:10 And they kept that saying with themselves,
questioning one with another what the rising from
the dead should mean.

They were completely ignorant of the resurrection
of Christ.
Mk 9:11-12 And they asked him, saying,
Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh
first, and restoreth all things;
and how it is written of the Son of man,
that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
Mk 9:13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come,
and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed,
as it is written of him.

John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah.
If they had accepted Jesus as their Messiah ,
John the Baptist would have fulfilled the prophecy.
Since they rejected the Savior at his first coming ,
the prophecy of Elijah as His forerunner would be
fulfilled at the second coming of Christ.
Mk 9:14-15 And when he came to his disciples,
he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes
questioning with them.
And straightway all the people, when they beheld him,
were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.

The great multitude of people were gathered about the
disciples , but the disciples could not help them .
Only the Lord Jesus Christ could help them.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Master of the
heavens and earths.
Mk 9:17-18 And one of the multitude answered and said,
Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath
a dumb spirit;
And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him:
and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth,
and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples
that they should cast him out; and they could not.

The disciples could not cast out the demon from the
demon-possessed child. We could only help demon-possed
folks by presenting a Savior to them. The Lord Jesus
will make them rational and will bring them into a right
relationship with God.
Mk 9:19 He answereth him, and saith,
O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you?
how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

Bring him unto the Lord. The Lord can do it .
The Lord can heal the sick . The Lord can bring peace .
Mk 9:20-21 And they brought him unto him:
and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him;
and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
And he asked his father,
How long is it ago since this came unto him?
And he said, Of a child.
And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire,
and into the waters, to destroy him:
but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us,
and help us.

The father begged Jesus to help his tortured son.
The Lord Jesus Christ has the power to help all
our problems.
Mk 9:23 Jesus said unto him,
If thou canst believe, all things are possible to
him that believeth.

All things are possible to him that believes
in the Lord.
Mk 9:24 And straightway the father of the child
cried out, and said with tears,
Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

The father believe in what the Lord has said.
This is his desperate plea of faith.
Mk 9:25-27 When Jesus saw that the people
came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit,
saying unto him,
Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee,
come out of him, and enter no more into him.
And the spirit cried, and rent him sore,
and came out of him: and he was as one dead;
insomuch that many said, He is dead.
But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up;
and he arose.

Could the foul spirit be living in a person ?
Could the foul spirit killed the boy ?
The boy was as one dead . Many said, He is dead.
The Lord Jesus Christ has control over life and death.
The Lord Jesus raise the dead boy and brought
him back to life.
Mk 9:28-29 And when he was come into the house,
his disciples asked him privately,
Why could not we cast him out?
And he said unto them,
This kind can come forth by nothing,
but by prayer and fasting.

This miracle can come about by praying to
the Lord for help. It is God's job to cast
out the devil.
Mk 9:30-32 And they departed thence,
and passed through Galilee;
and he would not that any man should know it.
For he taught his disciples, and said unto them,
The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men,
and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed,
he shall rise the third day.

Jesus told them about His death and resurrection.
Mk 9:32 But they understood not that saying,
and were afraid to ask him.

They did not understand what He was saying.
They did not understand His death and resurrection.
Mk 9:33-34 And he came to Capernaum:
and being in the house he asked them,
What was it that ye disputed among
yourselves by the way?
But they held their peace: for by the way they had
disputed among themselves, who should be
the greatest.
What the world considered the greatest is garbage
according to the Lord.
Mk 9:35-37 And he sat down, and called the twelve,
and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first,
the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them:
and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name,
receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth
not me, but him that sent me.
Jesus gave them the principle of spiritual greatness.
Jesus took a child into His arms .With the child
Jesus had shown them the principle of greatness
Mk 9:38 And John answered him, saying,
Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name,
and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because
he followeth not us.

Mk 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not:
for there is no man which shall do a miracle in
my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
For he that is not against us is on our part.
For whosoever shall give you a cup of water
to drink in my name, because ye belong
to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall
not lose his reward.

Those folks who are not against Christ is
for Him. In the name of Jesus , folks are
casting out devils. The good work in the
name of Jesus will not be denied by
any followers.
Mk 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one
of these little ones that believe in me,
it is better for him that a millstone were
hanged about his neck, and he were cast into
the sea.

The Lord always protect the weak , the sick ,
and the helpless folks. Those who offends these
folks shall be punished.
Mk 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee,
cut it off: it is better for thee to enter
into life maimed, than having two hands
to go into hell, into the fire that never
shall be quenched:

Jesus is talking about hell.
Hell is a real place.
Mk 9:44-45 Where their worm dieth not,
and the fire is not quenched.
And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off:
it is better for thee to enter halt into life,
than having two feet to be cast into hell,
into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Where their worm dieth not,
and the fire is not quenched. And if
thine eye offend thee, pluck it out:
it is better for thee to enter into the
kingdom of God with one eye, than having
two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire
is not quenched.

The eye can lead a person into sin.
Think of Eve whose eyes saw first the
fruit of the tree.
Mk 9:49 For every one shall be salted
with fire, and every sacrifice shall be
salted with salt. Salt is good:
but if the salt have lost his saltness,
wherewith will ye season it?
Have salt in yourselves, and have peace
one with another.
Fire and salt both purify . Fire purifies
by burning away impurities. Salt prevents
corruption and the spread of impurities.
The Word of God is the salt that we can
use to sanctify us and bring us peace.
Mk 10:1 And he arose from thence,
and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the
farther side of Jordan: and the people resort
unto him again; and, as he was wont,
he taught them again.

Mk 10:2 And the Pharisees came to him,
and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to
put away his wife? tempting him.

They wanted to trap Jesus with their
questions. If he answered yes to their
question , they would accuse him of being
lax in His teaching. It would contradict
to the teaching of Moses.
If Jesus answered no to their question ,
it would put Jesus in conflict with Herod.
Herod had beheaded John the Baptist .
Mk 10:3-4 And he answered and said
unto them, What did Moses command you?
And they said, Moses suffered to write a
bill of divorcement, and to put her away.

It is because sin that God granted divorce
under the law of Moses. (Deuteronomy 24:1-2)
Mk 10:5-10 And Jesus answered and said
unto them,
For the hardness of your heart he wrote
you this precept. But from the beginning
of the creation God made them male and female.
For this cause shall a man leave his father
and mother, and cleave to his wife;
And they twain shall be one flesh:
so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
What therefore God hath joined together,
let not man put asunder.
There are folks who ought not get married
in the first place. They married the wrong
person. That's their sin.
Marriage is something that God makes.
God joins couples together. If you let God
arrange the marriage for you , then it
will be a blessed marriage.
Mk 10:10-13 And in the house his disciples
asked him again of the same matter.
And he saith unto them,
Whosoever shall put away his wife,
and marry another, committeth adultery
against her. And if a woman shall put away
her husband, and be married to another,
she committeth adultery.

An unfaithful husband or wife is treated
as dead by the faithful mate.
Mk 10:13-16 And they brought young
children to him, that he should touch them:
and his disciples rebuked those that brought
them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much
displeased, and said unto them,
Suffer the little children to come unto me,
and forbid them not: for of such is the
kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you,
Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of
God as a little child, he shall not enter
therein. And he took them up in his arms,
put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

The innocent product of marriage is the child.
A divorce becomes evil when the child also
suffers. Children don't have to become
adults to come to the Lord. The Lord wants
the little children to come to Him now as
they are. The Lord wants the adults to
become as little children in their trust
in Him . Leave the world's sophistication
and cleverness behind. Trust in the Lord
with simple, childlike faith.
Mk 10:17 And when he was gone forth
into the way, there came one running, and
kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master,
what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
And Jesus said unto him,
Why callest thou me good?
there is none good but one, that is, God.
There is only One who is good. God is good.
If he calling Jesus good , then Jesus is God.
Mk 10:19-20 Thou knowest the commandments,
Do not commit adultery, Do not kill,
Do not steal, Do not bear false witness,
Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
And he answered and said unto him, Master,
all these have I observed from my youth.

The young man could meet the standard of the
second section of the Mosaic law ,
but he lacked one thing.
Mk 10:21-23 Then Jesus beholding him
loved him, and said unto him,
One thing thou lackest:
go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast,
and give to the poor, and thou shalt
have treasure in heaven:
and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
And he was sad at that saying,
and went away grieved: for he had
great possessions.

The young man lacked one thing. He did not
have a relationship with God.
The treasure of the earth will not last .
The treasure in heaven lasts forever.
The young man could not separate himself
from his possessions. And he was sad at that
saying, and went away grieved:
for he had great possessions.
Mk 10:23-25 And Jesus looked round about,
and saith unto his disciples,
How hardly shall they that have riches
enter into the kingdom of God!
And the disciples were astonished at
his words.
But Jesus answereth again, and
saith unto them,
Children, how hard is it for them that
trust in riches to enter into the kingdom
of God! It is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle, than for
a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

It is impossible for the rich man to enter
into heaven by means of his riches.
You can not buy your way into heaven.
It is humanly impossible for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle.
But for God all things are possible.
Mk 10:26-27 And they were astonished out
of measure, saying among themselves,
Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking
upon them saith, With men it is impossible,
but notwith God: for with God all things
are possible.
Jesus had invited the young man to get
rid of the obstacle the stood between the
young and God. It is impossible to buy
salvation . Money will not buy God.
If he had followed Jesus , he would have
learned that Jesus is good. Jesus is the
key to man's salvation . The Lord Jesus
Christ is the Saviour of the world.
Mk 10:28 Then Peter began to say
unto him, Lo, we have left all,
and have followed thee. And Jesus
answered and said, Verily I say unto you,
There is no man that hath left house,
or brethren, or sisters, or father,
or mother, or wife, or children, or
lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
But he shall receive an hundredfold now
in this time, houses, and brethren, and
sisters, and mothers, and children, and
lands, with persecutions; and in the
world to come eternal life.
Jesus did not rebuke Peter. Jesus
promised a reward for those folks
who sacrifice for Him.
Mk 10:31 But many that are first
shall be last; and the last first.
This is the principle that applies to
the giving out of rewards.
Mk 10:32-34 And they were in the way
going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went
before them: and they were amazed;
and as they followed, they were afraid.
And he took again the twelve, and began
to tell them what thingsshould happen
unto him, Saying, Behold, we go up
to Jerusalem; and the Son of man
shall be delivered unto the chief
priests, and unto the scribes;
and they shall condemn him to death,
and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
And they shall mock him, and shall
scourge him, and shall spit upon him,
and shall kill him: and the third day
he shall rise again.

He foretold them of His death and
resurrection. He died for us in
order to save us.
Mk 10:35-38 And James and John,
the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying,
Master, we would that thou shouldest
do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
And he said unto them,
What would ye that I should do for you?
They said unto him,
Grant unto us that we may sit,
one on thy right hand, and the other
on thy left hand, in thy glory.
But Jesus said unto them,
Ye know not what ye ask:
can ye drink of the cup that I drink of?
and be baptized with the baptism that
I am baptized with?

It seemed they were puffed up with pride
with they requested for positions of power.
They know not what they asked for.
But many that are first shall be last;
and the last first.
Their mother wanted the Lord to grant their
sons positions of privilege. But can
they drink of the cup that the Lord drink of?
Can they be baptized with the baptism that
He is baptized with?
Mk 10:39-40 And they said unto him,
We can. And Jesus said unto them,
Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that
I drink of; and with the baptism that
I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
But to sit on my right hand and on my
left hand is not mine to give;
but it shall be given to them for
whom it is prepared.

Salvation is free . The rewards in heaven
you have to work for it.
Mk 10:41 And when the ten heard it,
they began to be much displeased with
James and John. Fighting for positions of power are not
of God. These are worldly traits.
Let the Lord be God. Let God rules .
Let God appoint our positions among us.
Mk 10:42-44 But Jesus called them to him,
and saith unto them,
Ye know that they which are accounted to
rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship
over them; and their great ones exercise
authority upon them. But so shall it not
be among you: but whosoever will be great
among you, shall be your minister:
And whosoever of you will be the chiefest,
shall be servant of all.
The world's standard is different from God's
standards. The world uses force and power
to dominate others. The world leaders wants
others to serve them . God's method is to
uses the humble folks as leaders.
The humble folks are servants of other .
The chief leader are servant of all.
Mk 10:45-52 For even the Son of man
came not to be ministered unto,
but to minister, and to give his life
a ransom for many.
And they came to Jericho:
and as he went out of Jericho with his
disciples and a great number of people,
blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus,
sat by the highway side begging.
And when he heard that it was Jesus of
Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say,
Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
And many charged him that he should hold
his peace:
but he cried the more a great deal,
Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
And Jesus stood still, and commanded him
to be called.
And they call the blind man,
saying unto him,
Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

And he, casting away his garment, rose,
and came to Jesus.
And Jesus answered and said unto him,
What wilt thou that I should dounto thee?
The blind man said unto him,
Lord, that I might receive my sight.
And Jesus said unto him,
Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.
And immediately he received his sight,
and followed Jesus in the way. What will you that the Lord should do unto you ?
What do you want the Lord to do for you ?
The blind man had faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ . The blind man wanted
the Lord to give him his sight.
It is that simple for the Lord to do.
Bartimaeus followed Jesus now that he
could see. In a few days he will see Jesus
on the cross dying for him and the rest
of the believers.
Are you blind ? Or have you seen the
Lord Jesus Christ dying on the
cross for you ?
Mk 11:1 And when they came nigh to
Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at
the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth
two of his disciples,

Jesus was moving chronologically closer
to his death.
Mk 11:2-11 And saith unto them,
Go your way into the village over against you:
and as soon as ye be entered into it,
ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat;
loose him, and bring him. And if any man
say unto you, Why do ye this?
say ye that the Lord hath need of him;
and straightway he will send him hither.
And they went their way, and found the colt
tied by the door without in a place where
two ways met; and they loose him.
And certain of them that stood there
said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
And they said unto them even as Jesus
had commanded: and they let them go.
And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast
their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
And many spread their garments in the way:
and others cut down branches off the trees,
and strawed them in the way.
And they that went before, and they that
followed, cried, saying,
Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the
name of the Lord:
Blessed be the kingdom of our father David,
that cometh in the name of the Lord:
Hosanna in the highest.

The Lord Jesus Christ was offering Himself
publicly. It was a humble triumphal entry.
Mk 11:11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem,
and into the temple: and when he had looked
round about upon all things, and now the
eventide was come, he went out unto
Bethany with the twelve.

Jesus came into the temple as the priest to
offer the sacrifice that is acceptable
to God for our sins.
Jesus had offered himself publicly .
He was demanding a decision.
The people rejected Him.
And Jesus did not spend a night in
the city that rejected Him.
Mk 11:12-14 And on the morrow, when they
were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves,
he came, if haply he might find any thing
thereon: and when he came to it, he found
nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was
not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it,
No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.
And his disciples heard it.
This is the second day Jesus entered in triumph.
Those who do bear fruit are cursed by the Lord.
They will withered like the fruitless fig tree.
Mk 11:19 And they come to Jerusalem:
and Jesus went into the temple, and began
to cast out them that sold and bought in the
temple, and overthrew the tables of the
moneychangers, and the seats of them that
sold doves; And would not suffer that any
man should carry any vessel through the temple.
And he taught, saying unto them,
Is it not written, My house shall be called
of all nations the house of prayer?
but ye have made it a den of thieves.
And the scribes and chief priests heard it,
and sought how they might destroy him:
for they feared him, because all the people
was astonished at his doctrine.

And when evening was come, he went out of the city.
Jesus cleansed the temple. The moneychangers and
the dove merchants had created a religious racket.
They made the temple a den of thieves.
The scribes and chief priests were involved
in the religious rackets. Jesus had exposed
their darkness. They feared him and they sought
how they might destroy him.
Mk 11:20-22 And in the morning, as they
passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up
from the roots.
And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him,
Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst
is withered away.
And Jesus answering saith unto them,
Have faith in God.
They marvelled at what had happened to
the cursed fig tree.

This caused Jesus to tell them of the
greater things in faith.
Mk 11:23 For verily I say unto you,
That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he
saith shall come to pass; he shall have
whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you,
What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall
have them.
And when ye stand praying, forgive,
if ye have ought against any:
that your Father also which is in heaven
may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will
your Father which is in heaven forgive
your trespasses.
Jesus taught them how to pray in faith.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
He that comes to God must believe that He is ,
and that He is a Rewarder of them
that diligently seek Him.
God will answer only those folks who forgives
others. Those folks with forgiving hearts
will be forgiven by God .
Have faith in God. The Lord will not answer
selfish folks. Have in the Lord that His
will be done in your lives.
Mk 11:27 And they come again to Jerusalem:
and as he was walking in the temple,
there come to him the chief priests,
and the scribes, and the elders,
The chief priests came out and tried to
trap Jesus.

They did not want to lose
their authority.
Mk 11:28 And say unto him,
By what authority doest thou these things?
and who gave thee this authority
to do these things?

The religious racketeers challenged His authority.
Mk 11:29 And Jesus answered and said unto them,
I will also ask of you one question,
and answer me, and I will tell you by
what authority I do these things.

Jesus told them that if they answered
his one question then he will answer
their question.
Mk 11:30-33 The baptism of John, was it
from heaven, or of men? answer me.
And they reasoned with themselves, saying,
If we shall say, From heaven; he will say,
Why then did ye not believe him?
But if we shall say, Of men;
they feared the people:
for all men counted John,
that he was a prophet indeed.
And they answered and said unto Jesus,
We cannot tell.
And Jesus answering saith unto them,
Neither do I tell you by what authority
I do these things.

If they answered that John's baptism
was from heaven, their evil would be exposed.
They did not accepted John's baptism.
If they did not want to claim that John's
baptism was of men , because they feared
the people . The folks had already
accepted John the Baptist as a prophet.
Mk 12:1-12 And he began to speak unto
them by parables. A certain man planted a
vineyard, and set an hedge about it,
and digged a place for the winefat,
and built a tower, and let it out to
husbandmen, and went into a far country.
Mk 12:2 And at the season he sent to the
husbandmen a servant, that he might
receive from the husbandmen of the
fruit of the vineyard.

The servants are prophets of God. And they caught him, and beat him,
and sent him away empty.
And again he sent unto them another servant;
and at him they cast stones, and wounded
him in the head, and sent him away shamefully
handled. And again he sent another;
and him they killed, and many others;
beating some, and killing some.

The Lord had sent prophets to them .
Some had been beaten. Others were killed.
Mk 12:6 Having yet therefore one son,
his wellbeloved, he sent him also last
unto them, saying,
They will reverence my son.
But those husbandmen said among themselves,
This is the heir;
come, let us kill him,
and the inheritance shall be ours.
And they took him, and killed him,
and cast him out of the vineyard.
What shall therefore the lord of the
vineyard do?
He will come and destroy the husbandmen,
and will give the vineyard unto others.
And have ye not read this scripture;
The stone which the builders rejected
is become the head of the corner:

This was the Lord's doing, and it is
marvellous in our eyes?
And they sought to lay hold on him,
but feared the people: for they knew
that he had spoken the parable against them:
and they left him, and went their way.
The servants that God sent were the prophets
of God. The owner of the vineyard is God.
The vineyard is the nation of Israel that
God has chosen and protected. The religious
rulers were the husbandmen.
Finally, God sent His Son , He foretold what the religious would do.
Jesus charged them with His murder
before they kill Him. Then He foretold
the judgment of the religious rulers.
Mk 12:15 And they send unto him certain
of the Pharisees and of the Herodians,
to catch him in his words. And when
they were come, they say unto him,
Master, we know that thou art true,
and carest for no man: for thou
regardest not the person of men,
but teachest the way of God in truth:
Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar,
or not? Shall we give, or shall we not give?
But he, knowing their hypocrisy,
said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
bring me a penny, that I may see it.
They used flattery , but Jesus did not
accept their flattery.
The Lord knew of their hypocrisy.
They wanted to trap Him .
Mk 12:16-17 And they brought it.
And he saith unto them,
Whose is this image and superscription?
And they said unto him, Caesar's.
And Jesus answering said unto them,
Render to Caesar the things that are
Caesar's, and to God the things that
are God's. And they marvelled at him.

Their trap could not trap Him.
Give to the earthly government their taxes.
Give to God the things that belong to God.
Mk 12:18-21 Then come unto him the Sadducees,
which say there is no resurrection;
and they asked him, saying,
Master, Moses wrote unto us,
If a man's brother die, and leave
his wife behind him, and leave no children,
that his brother should take his wife,
and raise up seed unto his brother.
Now there were seven brethren:
and the first took a wife, and dying
left no seed. And the second took her,
and died, neither left he any seed:
and the third likewise.
Mk 12:22 And the seven had her,
and left no seed: last of all the
woman died also.

They are referring to the law of the
kinsman-redeemer that is illustrated
in the Book of Ruth.
Mk 12:23 In the resurrection therefore,
when they shall rise, whose wife shall
she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
They made a mistake . They did not know
the scriptures and they did not know
the power of God.
Mk 12:24-25 And Jesus answering said
unto them,
Do ye not therefore err, because
ye know not the scriptures, neither
the power of God?
For when they shall rise from the dead,
they neither marry, nor are given
in marriage;
but are as the angels which are in heaven.

When they shall rise from the dead ,
they will be angels .
Angels are different forms of life .
Angels are not human beings.
Mk 12:26 And as touching the dead,
that they rise: have ye not read in the
book of Moses, how in the bush God spake
unto him, saying,
I am the God of Abraham, and the God
of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mk 12:27 He is not the God of the dead,
but the God of the living: ye therefore
do greatly err.

God is the God of living .
God is the God of Abraham , The bodies of Isaac , Jacob , and
Abraham were buried , but they are not dead.
They have gone to live with the Lord .
Mk 12:28 And one of the scribes came,
and having heard them reasoning together,
and perceiving that he had answered them
well, asked him,
Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him,
The first of all the commandments is,
Hear, O Israel;

The Lord our God is one Lord:
This quotation is from Deuteronomy 6:4.
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with
all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind, and with all thy And the second is like, namely this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. There is none other commandment
greater than these.
Do you love God with all your heart ,
with all your soul , with all your mind,
with all your strength ? If you don't
you are breaking His commandment and you
need the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour .
We all don't measure up . We wish to love Him ,
but not as we should. We need the
Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour ,
because we can not fulfill our duties
to obey God's commandments.
Mk 12:32 And the scribe said unto him,
Well, Master, thou hast said the truth:
for there is one God; and there is none
other but he:
And to love him with all the heart,
and with all the understanding,
and with all the soul, and with all
the strength, and to love his
neighbour as himself, is more than
all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
To love God and to love your neighbour
is more than all offerings and sacrifices .
Mk 12:34 And when Jesus saw that he answered
discreetly, he said unto him,
Thou art not far from the kingdom of God.
And no man after that durst
ask him any question.

The scribe is sincere in his answer .
He understood that to love God and
love his neighbour was more than all
offerings and sacrifices. He was not
far from the kingdom of God.
Mk 12:35-37 And Jesus answered
and said, while he taught in the temple,
How say the scribes that Christ
is the Son of David?
For David himself said by the Holy Ghost,
The LORD said to my Lord,
Sit thou on my right hand, till I make
thine enemies thy footstool.
David therefore himself calleth him Lord;
and whence is he then his son?
And the common people heard him gladly.
Jesus is teaching His virgin birth. Lord of David is to be more than
David's son . Jesus must be virgin
born to be the Son of God. This is what
Jesus taught. Psalm 110 is speaking
of the Jesus , the Messiah.
Mk 12:38 And he said unto them in his
doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which
love to go in long clothing, and love
salutations in the marketplaces,
And the chief seats in the synagogues,
and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
Which devour widows' houses, and for
a pretence make long prayers:
these shall receive greater damnation.

Some scribes and religious folks lived
a contradictory lives . Their lives
contradicted the scriptures they taught.
Mk 12:41 And Jesus sat over against
the treasury, and beheld how the people
cast money into the treasury:
and many that were rich cast in much.
Mk 12:42 And there came a certain
poor widow, and she threw in two mites,
which make a farthing.
Mk 12:43 And he called unto him his
disciples, and saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That this
poor widow hath cast more in, than all
they which have cast into the treasury:

The Lord knows how you keep for yourselves.
The poor widow gave all she had.
That's one hundred percent.
While the rich folks cast in from
their abundance . They gave less than
one percent.
Mk 12:44 For all they did cast in of
their abundance; but she of her want did
cast in all that she had, even all her
living.

The rich folks gave less than the poor
widow because the poor gave all that she had.
Mk 13:1 And as he went out of the temple,
one of his disciples saith unto him,
Master, see what manner of stones and
what buildings are here!
The disciples wanted the Master to see
the great buildings. There was a grandeur
and a glory about the temple. They seemed
to be able to last a long time.
There was a permanence and stability
about the temple.
Mk 13:2 And Jesus answering said
unto him, Seest thou these great buildings?
there shall not be left one stone upon another,
that shall not bethrown down.

The Lord told them that the great buildings
would be thrown down. There would not be
left one stone. The buildings like every
thing in this world is temporary.
Everything is passing away. are seen ;
for the things which are seen are temporal;
but the things which are not seen are
eternal (2 Cor; 4:18 ).
These things are passing away .The great
buildings are coming down.
Mk 13:3-4 And as he sat upon the mount
of Olives over against the temple,
Peter and James and John and Andrew
asked him privately,
Tell us, when shall these things be?
and what shall be the sign when all
these things shall be fulfilled?

When shall these things be ? When shall
these great buildings be destroyed ?
What shall be the sign of the Lord's coming ?
What shall be the sign of the end of the world ?
Mk 13:5-6 And Jesus answering them began
to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
For many shall come in my name , saying ,
Don't let any one deceive you. Little children , it is the last time ;
and as ye have heard that antichrist
shall come , even now are there man
antichrists; whereby we know that it is
the last time (1 John 2:18) .

When you shall hear of wars and rumours
of war , do not be disturbed.
They are not sign of the end of the age.
Mk 13:7 And when ye shall hear of wars
and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled:
for such things must needs be;
but the end shall not be yet.
Mk 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom: and there
shall be earthquakes in divers places,
and there shall be famines and troubles:
these are the beginnings of sorrows.

War , earthquakes , famines and troubles
are worldly activities. They are not
signs of the end of the age.
Mk 13:9-10 But take heed to yourselves:
for they shall deliver you up to councils;
and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten:
and ye shall be brought before rulers
and kings for my sake, for a testimony
against them. And the gospel must first
be published among all nations.

The gospel must first be published among
all the nations , before the end would come.
The religious folks and unbelievers
shall persecute the believers.
Mk 13:11 But when they shall lead you,
and deliver you up, take no thought
beforehand what ye shall speak,
neither do ye premeditate:
but whatsoever shall be given
you in that hour, that speak ye:
for it is not ye that speak,
but the Holy Ghost.

Don't worry about your future sufferings.
The Holy Spirit shall help and protect
the believer .
Mk 13:12 Now the brother shall betray
the brother to death, and the father the
son; and children shall rise up against
their parents, and shall cause them
to be put to death.

There shall be betrayals.
Mk 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all
men for my name's sake: but he that
shall endure unto the end, the same
The believers shall be hated of all men
for the Lord's sake. But the believer who
shall endure unto the end , he shall be saved.
Mk 13:14 But when ye shall see the
abomination of desolation, spoken of
by Daniel the prophet, standing where it
ought not,
(let him that readeth understand,)
then let them that be in Judaea flee
to the mountains:

Daniel spoke of the Great tribulation.
Mk 13:15-16 And let him that is on
the housetop not go down into the house,
neither enter therein, to take any thing
out of his house:
And let him that is in the field not
turn back again for to take up
his garment.

There is urgency . There is no time for
them to go back to get their belongings.
They must run away fast.
Mk 13:21 But woe to them that are with
child, and to them that give suck in
those days! And pray ye that your
flight be not in the winter. For in
those days shall be affliction, such as
was not from the beginning of the
creation which God created unto this
time, neither shall be. And except
that the Lord had shortened those days,
no flesh should be saved: but for the
elect's sake, whom he hath chosen,
he hath shortened the days.

And then if any man shall say to you,
Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there;
believe him not:
The tribulation will be terrible.
Mk 13:22-26 For false Christs and
false prophets shall rise, and shall shew
signs and wonders, to seduce, if it
were possible, even the elect.
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold
you all things. But in those days,
after that tribulation, the sun shall
be darkened, and the moon shall not give
her light,
And the stars of heaven shall fall,
and the powers that are in heaven
shall be shaken.
And then shall they see the Son of man
coming in the clouds with great power
and glory.

By the power of the devil ,
the false Christs and false prophets shall
perform great signs of wonder. They will
seduce many folks .
The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
is introduced by the darkening of the
universe and the changing of the power
of the universe .
Mk 13:27 And then shall he send his angels,
and shall gather together his elect from
the four winds, from the uttermost part of
the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

The believers are gathered to the uttermost
part of heaven.

THE PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE

Mk 13:28-29 Now learn a parable of the fig tree;
When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth
leaves, ye know that summer is near:
So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these
things come to pass, know that it is nigh,
even at the doors.

The fig tree speaks of the nation of Israel.
God's timepiece is Israel. We are to look
closely at Israel.
Mk 13:30 Verily I say unto you,
that this generation shall not pass,
till all these things be done.

Those who saw the beginning of these things
shall also see the conclusion.
Mk 13:31-32 Heaven and earth shall pass away:
but my words shall not pass away. But of
that day and that hour knoweth no man, no,
not the angels which are in heaven,
neither the Son, but the Father.

This job of the heaven and earth passing away
is for God the Father to do.
The Word of God shall not pass away because Mk 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray:
for ye know not when the time is.

In all ages , God's folks is to be watching
and praying .
Mk 13:34-37 For the Son of man is as a
man taking a far journey, who left his
house, and gave authority to his servants,
and to every man his work, and commanded
the porter to watch.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when
the master of the house cometh, at even,
or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing,
or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly
he find you sleeping.
And what I say unto you I say unto all,
Watch.

Jesus is the son of man . He took a far
journey. He gave His authority to
His followers. The Lord gave His work
to do , every man his work. The Lord
commanded each of us to watch and get
ready for His return. We don't know when
the Lord comes . We have to be ready .
We have to be looking for that blessed
hope and glorious appearance. This is
our joyful anticipation.
Mk 14:1-2 After two days was the feast
of the passover, and of unleavened bread:
and the chief priests and the scribes
sought how they might take him by craft,
and put him to death.
But they said, Not on the feast day,
lest there be an uproar of the people.
Chief priests and scribes plot to kill Jesus.
They wanted to kill Jesus at the end of the
Passover season , after the crowds had left
Jerusalem. They did not want to put Jesus
to death on the feast day because they
were afraid it would cause an uproar of
the people. The folks held Jesus in high
esteem . The folks gladly heard Jesus .
Jesus fed them and healed them .
Mk 14:3 And being in Bethany in the
house of Simon the leper, as he sat at
meat, there came a woman having an
alabaster box of ointment of spikenard
very precious; and she brake the box,
and poured it on his head.
Mary shone brightly in her actions.
Mary expressed her faith and love for
the Lord Jesus Christ , when she
anointed Jesus with very precious spikenard .
Mary was the sister of Martha and Lazarus.
Mk 14:4-5 And there were some that had
indignation within themselves, and said,
Why was this waste of the ointment made?
For it might have been sold for more
than three hundred pence, and
have been given to the poor. And they
murmured against her.

Judas wanted the money for himself ,
because he held the purse. Judas did
not want to give to the poor .

Mk 14:6 And Jesus said,
Let her alone; why trouble ye her?
she hath wrought a good work on me.
Mk 14:7 For ye have the poor with you always,
and whensoever ye will ye may do
them good: but me ye have not always.

Today as in the past , it is a big mistake
to think that you can eliminate poverty by
handing out money. You have the poor with
you always. First you must have the right
relationship with the Lord. Then you go
look after the poor.If you are sincere
in your love for the poor , there will be
many opportunities to help the poor.
There will not be an elinimation of
the poor until Jesus comes. The presence
of the poor is a characteristics of this age.
Mk 14:8 She hath done what she could:
she is come aforehand to anoint my body
to the burying.

That's all God has asked of her and you.
She has done what she could. She gave
the Lord the best perfume.
Mk 14:9 Verily I say unto you,
Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached
throughout the whole world, this also that
she hath done shall be spoken of for
a memorial of her.

The good smelling ointment has left
an everlasting sweet fragrance.
Mk 14:10 And Judas Iscariot, one of
the twelve, went unto the chief priests,
to betray him unto them.

The actions of an betrayer stinks.
Mk 14:11 And when they heard it,
they were glad, and promised to give him
money. And he sought how he might conveniently
betray him.
Their plot had been discovered . They wanted
to moved quickly .
Mk 14:12 And the first day of unleavened
bread, when they killed the passover,
his disciples said unto him,
Where wilt thou that we go and prepare
that thou mayest eat the passover?
The disciples were meticulous in following
the law of Moses. They wanted to know
where they were going at the Passover.
The disciples still did not realize that
Jesus was the Passover Lamb. In a few hours
Jesus was to fulfill the meaning of the Passover.
Mk 14:13-14 And he sendeth forth two of his
disciples, and saith unto them,
Go ye into the city, and there shall meet
you a man bearing a pitcher of water:
follow him.
And wheresoever he shall go in,
say ye to the goodman of the house,
The Master saith,
Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat
the passover with my disciples?

The good man had pre-arranged to provide
a guest room for the Lord.
Mk 14:15 And he will shew you a large
upper room furnished and prepared:
there make ready for us.
Mk 14:16 And his disciples went forth,
and came into the city, and found as he
had said unto them: and they made ready
the passover.

It was a private gathering. The Lord and
His disciples would eat the Passover together.
Mk 14:17 And in the evening he cometh
with the twelve.

Jesus came at His own time when He was ready.
At the proper time Jesus delivered Himself
unto the hands of the enemies to be crucified.
Mk 14:18 And as they sat and did eat,
Jesus said, Verily I say unto you,
One of you which eateth with me shall
betray me.
And they began to be sorrowful, and to
say unto him one by one, Is it I?
and another said, Is it I?

All of them knew that they were capable of
betraying the Lord. Man is totally depraved.
Man is a sinner and is capable of turning
his back on God. Each of us could bring out
the same question , " Is it I ?"
Mk 14:20-21 And he answered and said unto them,
It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with
me in the dish.
The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written
of him:
but woe to that man by whom the Son of man
is betrayed! good were it for that man if
he had never been born.
It was written,
"Yea , my own familiar friend , in whom I trusted,
which did eat my bread , hath lifted up his
heel against me "(Ps 41:9).

Jesus pointed out Judas , who left at this point
to carry out his evil plot.
Mk 14:22-25And as they did eat,
Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it,
and gave to them, and said, Take, eat:
this is my body.
And he took the cup, and when he had given
thanks, he gave it to them: and they all
drank of it.
And he said unto them,
This is my blood of the new testament,
which is shed for many.
Verily I say unto you,
I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine,
until that day that I drink it new in the
kingdom of God.

The Passover looked forward to the coming
of Christ, as Passover Lamb.
The Lord Supper now looks back to what the
Lord Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross.
The bread speaks of His body that was broken .
Mk 14:26-31 And when they had sung an hymn,
they went out into the mount of Olives.
And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be
offended because of me this night:
for it is written, I will smite the shepherd,
and the sheep shall be scattered.
But after that I am risen,
I will go before you into Galilee.
But Peter said unto him,
Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.
And Jesus saith unto him,
Verily I say unto thee, That this day,
even in this night, before the cock crow twice,
thou shalt deny me thrice.
But he spake the more vehemently,
If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee
in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

Peter did know his weakness. Before the cock crow twice ,
Peter would have deny the Lord three times.
They all did not know their own weaknesses.
Mk 14:32 And they came to a place which was
named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples,
Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John,
and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;
And saith unto them,
My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death:
tarry ye here, and watch.

He faced the tempter again here in the garden of
Gethesmane. In this garden there were some
horrible mysteries that we can not understand.
We better wait at the edge for our Lord and watch.
Mk 14:35-36 And he went forward a little,
and fell on the ground, and prayed that,
if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible
unto thee; take away this cup from me:
nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
Jesus was not afraid of death. He dreaded the cup of
sin that was to put upon Him.(2 Cor 5:21)
Mk 14:37-38 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping,
and saith unto Peter,Simon, sleepest thou?
couldest not thou watch one hour? Watch ye and pray,
lest ye enter into temptation.

The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
They should be watching and praying .
Watching and praying helps you avoid sin.
The spirit is truly ready but the flesh is always
weak and falls asleep easily.
Mk 14:39 And again he went away, and prayed,
and spake the same words.
Mk 14:40-42 And when he returned, he found them
asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,)
neither wist they what to answer him.
And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them,
Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough,
the hour is come; behold, the Son of man
is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth
me is at hand.

The flesh can not be trusted . The flesh always
failed. Each time they fell alseep . They were
not very good watchmen for the Lord.
Mk 14:43-44 And immediately, while he yet spake,
cometh Judas, one of the twelve,
and with him a great multitude with swords and staves,
from the chiefpriests and the scribes and the elders.
And he that betrayed him had given them a token,
saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he;
take him, and lead him away safely.

The feast days had past . Now they were ready to
kill Jesus. A badge of love and affection is a kiss.
But Judas use it to betray Christ.
Mk 14:45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth
straightway to him, and saith,
Master, master; and kissed him.

No man can say Jesus is Lord , but by the
Holy Spirit (1Cor12:3).
Judas called Jesus as a master only ,
because he didn't believe in Him. He has no
respect nor love for Jesus. It was a lie. Mk 14:46 And they laid their hands on him,
and took him.
Jesus yielded Himself into the hands of sinful men.
Mk 14:47-49 And one of them that stood by drew
a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest,
and cut off his ear. And Jesus answered and said
unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief,
with swords and with staves to take me?
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and
ye took me not:
but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

Jesus pointed out that this fulfilled the prophecy.
They did not believe in the scriptures .
That was the reason they did what they had done.
Mk 14:50 And they all forsook him, and fled. They all forsook Him in the hour of danger.
And they all fled for their lives.
Mk 14:51-52 And there followed him a certain
young man, having a linen cloth cast about his
naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:
And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

This young man may have been John Mark.
He did a good thing for the Lord.
Many nameless folks have done things for the Lord.
Only the Lord knows their names and will reward
them accordingly.
Mk 14:53-54 And they led Jesus away to the
high priest: and with him were assembled all
the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
And Peter followed him afar off, even into the
palace of the high priest: and he sat with
the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

Peter was sitting with the wrong crowd.
Mk 14:55-56 And the chief priests and all the
council sought for witness against Jesus to
put him to death; and found none.
For many bare false witness against him,
but their witness agreed not together.

They heard only those who were against Jesus.
Many were willing to bear false witness against
Jesus , but no two liars agreed .
A charge had to be established in the mouth
of at least tow witnesses , but no two
person agreed .
Mk 14:57- And there arose certain, and bare
false witness against him, saying,
We heard him say, I will destroy this temple
that is made with hands, and within three days
I will build another made without hands.
But neither so did their witness agree together.
And the high priest stood up in the midst,
and asked Jesus, saying,
Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these
witness against thee?
But he held his peace, and answered nothing.
Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him,
Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man
sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in
the clouds of heaven.
Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith,
What need we any further witnesses?
It was illegal for the high priest to tear his clothes.
Mk 14:64-69 Ye have heard the blasphemy:
what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty
of death. And some began to spit on him, and to cover
his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him,
Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the
palms of their hands. And as Peter was beneath in
the palace, there cometh one of the maids
of the high priest:
And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked
upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus
of Nazareth.
But he denied, saying,
I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest.
And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.
And a maid saw him again, and began to say to
them that stood by, This is one of them.
The maid caused Peter to deny his Lord.
To save himself , Peter denied Jesus.
Have you ever been in a similar situation
of cowardice and weakness ?
May the Lord forgive us as He has forgiven Peter .
Mk 14:70 And he denied it again. And a little
after, they that stood by said again to Peter,
Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a
Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
Peter's weakness of wanting to talk too much
got him into trouble. His Galilaean speech gave
him away. When Peter faced with a test of faith
he failed . To make things worse ,
Peter began to curse and to swear that
he did not know the Lord.
Mk 14:71 But he began to curse and to swear,
saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.
Peter had not known his own weakness.
He was sincere when he promised to be faithful
to Him. But he did not know himself.
The Lord knew Peter better than Peter knew himself.
Mk 14:72 And the second time the cock crew.
And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus
said unto him, Before the cock crow twice,
thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he
thought thereon, he wept.
CHAPTER FIFTEEN Mk 15:1 And straightway in the morning the chief
priests held a consultation with the elders
and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus,
and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.
The chief priests could condemn Jesus to die ,
but only the Roman government could carry out the
execution .Pilate was a Roman official.
Mk 15:2 And Pilate asked him,
Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it.
Are you the King of the Jews ?
Jesus answered that He is the King of the Jews.
Mk 15:3 And the chief priests accused him
of many things: but he answered nothing.
And Pilate asked him again, saying,
Answerest thou nothing?
behold how many things they witness against thee.
But Jesus yet answered nothing;
so that Pilate marvelled.
Pilate was amazed that Jesus did not
defend Himself .
Mk 15:6-7 Now at that feast he released unto
them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.
And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound
with them that had made insurrection with him,
who had committed murder in the insurrection.
And the multitude crying aloud began to desire
him to do as he had ever done unto them.
But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that
I release unto you the King of the Jews?
For he knew that the chief priests had
delivered him for envy.
Pilate knew that the chief priests were jealous
of Jesus and that Jesus was the truth .
Pilate who knew Jesus was inocent and wanted
to release him .But he also did not wanted to
stir up trouble with the chief priests.
Mk 15:11-16 But the chief priests moved
the people, that he should rather release
Barabbas unto them And Pilate answered and said
again unto them, What will ye then that
I shall do unto him whom ye call the
King of the Jews?
And they cried out again, Crucify him.
Then Pilate said unto them,
Why, what evil hath he done?
And they cried out the more exceedingly,
Crucify him.
And so Pilate, willing to content the people,
released Barabbas unto them, and delivered
Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
And the soldiers led him away into the hall,
called Praetorium;
and they call together the whole band.
The soldiers made a plaything of Jesus ,
humiliating him and torturing him.
The soldiers were a brutal lot.
They kicked viciously and puched his face
into a pulp .
At the age of thirty-three years old ,
Jesus had the stemgth of youth .
He was a carpenter and had the powerful
strength to drive away the money-changers .
Because the soldiers had beaten him viciously ,
Jesus was unable to carry the cross.
Mk 15:17 And they clothed him with purple,
and platted a crown of thorns, and put it
about his head,
Mk 15:18 And began to salute him,
Hail, King of the Jews!

They were mocking Jesus.
Mk 15:19 And they smote him on the head
with a reed, and did spit upon him,
and bowing their knees worshipped him.

The soldiers were cruel ,and brutal.
They kept spitting on him and viciously
smiting him.

Mk 15:20 And when they had mocked him,
they took off the purple from him, and
put his own clothes on him, and led him out
to crucify him.
After Jesus had suffered under the
soldiers' torture, he was led away to be
crucified. Simon was picked out of the crowd
and was forced to carried the cross for
Jesus.
Mk 15:21-22 And they compel one Simon a
Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of
the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus,
to bear his cross.
And they bring him unto the place Golgotha,
which is, being interpreted,
The place of a skull.

They brought Jesus to Golgotha , a place of
a skull.
Mk 15:23-24 And they gave him to drink
wine mingled with myrrh: but he received
it not. And when they had crucified him,
they parted his garments, casting lots upon
them, what every man should take.

They gambled for his clothes. This was the
fulfillment of the prophecy in Psalm 22:18.
Mk 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they
crucified him.
Mk 15:26 And the superscription of his
accusation was written over,
THE KING OF THE JEWS.
They crucified Jesus because Jesus claimed
to be THE KING OF THE JEWS. Jesus led no
insurrection against the Romans.
Jesus offered Himself to Israel and Israel
rejected Him , the King of the Jews.
Mk 15:27-28 And with him they crucify
two thieves; the one on his right hand,
and the other on his left.
And the scripture was fulfilled,
which saith, And he was numbered
with the transgressors.

Jesus was crucified with two theieves.
The Scripture was fulfilled .
" And he was numbered with the transgressors.
(Isaiah 53:12)".
Mk 15:29-31 And they that passed by
railed on him, wagging their heads, and
saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple,
and buildest it in three days,
Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
Likewise also the chief priests mocking said
among themselves with the scribes,
He saved others; himself he cannot save.

They were mocking Jesus . They didn't
believed in Him. And they did not
understand His purpose in the world as
a Saviour.
Mk 15:32 Let Christ the King of Israel
descend now from the cross, that we may
see and believe. And they that were
crucified with him reviled him.

Mk 15:33 And when the sixth hour
was come, there was darkness over the
whole land until the ninth hour.
And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with
a loud voice, saying,
Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?
which is, being interpreted,
My God, my God,
why hast thou forsaken me?

Jesus hung on the cross for six hours .
Jesus was offering Himself as a sacrifice
for man's sin. Jesus paid for the sin of
the world. Jesus was made sin for us. Yet God was in Christ, reconciling the
world unto Himself. (2 Cor5:19).
Mk 15:35 And some of them that stood
by, when they heard it, said, Behold,
he calleth Elias.
And one ran and filled a spunge full
of vinegar, and put it on areed, and
gave him to drink, saying, Let alone;
let us see whether Elias will come
to take him down.

The crowd misunderstood what Jesus
had said.
They thought Jesus was calling Elijah.
They gave me also gall for my meat ,
and in my thirst they gave me vinegar
to drink (Ps 69:25)
Mk 15:37-38 And Jesus cried with a
loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
And the veil of the temple was rent
in twain from the top to the bottom.
Jesus didn't die because His physical
body stopped functioning. Jesus died
because He surrendered up His spirit.
The minute Jesus died , the veil was rent .
The veil spoke of the humanity of Christ.
Christ's sinless life shows how sinful
our lives are. By our own human efforts ,
we can never meaure up to God's standard.
There was a veil between God and us.
The death of Christ brings us to God .
When Christ died , the veil was rent .
Now we have access to god through our
Lord Jesus Christ.
Mk 15:39 And when the centurion,
which stood over against him, saw that
he so cried out, and gave up the ghost,
he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
The centurion confessed his faith in the
Son of God.
Mk 15:40-41 There were also women
looking on afar off: among whom was Mary
Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James
the less and of Joses, and Salome;
(Who also, when he was in Galilee,
followed him, and ministered unto him;)
and many other women which came up with
him unto Jerusalem.
The women were the last to leave the cross
and the first to arrive at tomb.
Mk 15:42-46 And now when the even was
come, because it was the preparation,
that is, the day before the sabbath,
Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable
counsellor, which also waited for the
kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly
unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead:
and calling unto him the centurion,
he asked him whether he had been any
while dead.
And when he knew it of the centurion,
he gave the body to Joseph.
And he bought fine linen, and took him down,
and wrapped him in the linen, and laid
him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of
a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door
of the sepulchre.
Joseph of Arimathaea was a follower of Jesus.
Joseph had the courage to step out in the open.
He went boldly to Pilate and asked for the
body of Jesus.
When the disciples ran away , Joseph risked
his own life to be identified with Christ.
He was an honourable counsellor , who was
also waiting for the kingdom of God.
The Roman soldiers sealed the door of the
tomb . And they guarded it .
Mk 15:47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary
the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.
The women stayed until the very end.
They were the only mourners.
Mk16:1-2 And when the sabbath was past,
Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of
James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices,
that they might come and anoint him.
And very early in the morning the first day
of the week, they came unto the sepulchre
at the rising of the sun.
If you are to do some important thing for
the Lord , do it now while there are
opportunities .Mary of Bethany didn't
waste her expensive ointment , was alive. Now the women wasted their
spices because the tomb was empty and
Jesus was gone. There were no more
opportunities for them to annoint Him.
It was too late.Jesus was alive again.
Mk 16:3-4 And they said among themselves,
Who shall roll us away the stone from the
door of the sepulchre?
And when they looked, they saw that the stone
was rolled away: for it was very great.
The women came early to the tomb.
All the men had ran away because fear
for their lives. Who will help them roll
away the heavy stone for the door of
the tomb?
Their problem was resolved. The stone
was rolled away. The body of Jesus was gone.
Mk 16:5-7 And entering into the sepulchre,
they saw a young man sitting on the
right side, clothed in a long white garment;
and they were affrighted.
And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted:
Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth,
which was crucified: he is risen;
he is not here: behold the place
where they laid him.
But go your way, tell his disciples
and Peter that he goeth before you
into Galilee: there shall ye see him,
? as he said unto you.

The angel announced the resurrection
of Christ. The Lord has risen.
The women were told to report to
the disciples.
Mk 16:8 And they went out quickly,
and fled from the sepulchre; for they
trembled and were amazed: neither
said they any thing to any man;
for they were afraid.
Now when Jesus was risen early the
first day of the week, he appeared
first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom
he had cast seven devils.
And she went and told them that had
been with him, as they mourned
and wept. And they, when they had
heard that he was alive, and had been
seen of her, believed not.
Jesus first appeared first to Mary
Magdalene. And she went told them ,
but they did not believe her.
Mk 16:12-13 After that he appeared
in another form unto two of them, as they
walked, and went into the country.
And they went and told it unto the
residue: neither believed they them.
Jesus appeared to two others.
They went and told others of their
meeting with Christ they did not
believe them.

Mk 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto
the eleven as they sat at meat, and
upbraided them with their unbelief and
hardness of heart, because they
believed not them which had seen him
after he was risen.
Jesus appeared to the eleven .
The Lord scold them for their unbelief
and hardness of heart.
Mk 16:15 And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world, and preach
the gospel to every creature.
The Lord Jesus Christ is telling His
followers to go into all the world ,
and preach the good news to every
creature.
Mk 16:16 He that believeth and
is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall
be damned.
He who believes on the Son of God
has everlasting life. And he who believes
not the Son of God is damned.
Mk 16:17 And these signs shall follow
them that believe; In my name shall they
cast out devils; they shall speak with new
tongues; They shall take up serpents;
and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them; they shall
lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover.
God will work miracles through the
believers. God can do the impossible.
Miracles are God's responsibilities.
Our duty is to have faith in the Lord.
Not every has the gift to heal.
It's God's will to give these gifts
to whosoever He wishes.
Mk 16:19 So then after the Lord
had spoken unto them, he was received
up into heaven, and sat on the right
hand of God. And they went forth,
and preached every where, the Lord
working with them, and confirming
the word with signs following. Amen.
After the Lord had spoken to them ,
they went forward boldly with confidence
and preached everywhere. The Lord was
working with them . And He was
confirming the Word with miracles.
