PSALM 14
To the Chief Musician.A Psalm of David
1 The fool has said in his heart,
There is no God. They are corrupt,
they have done abominable works,
there is none that does good.
2 The LORD looked down from heaven
upon the children of men, to see if
there were any that did understand,
and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are
all together become filthy: there is
none that does good, no, not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no
knowledge? who eat up my people
as they eat bread, and call not upon
the LORD.
5 There were they in great fear:
for God is in the generation of the
righteous.
6 You have shamed the counsel
of the poor, because the LORD is
his refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were
come out of Zion! when the LORD
brings back the captivity of his people,
Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
This is the story of the fallen man and
a faithful God.
1 The fool has said in his heart,
There is no God. They are corrupt,
they have done abominable works,
there is none that does good.
The fool denied the existence of
God. The fool rejected God.
The fool has said in his heart,
There is no God.
They are corrupt,
they have done abominable works,
there is none that does good.
The fool say there is no God
for him. The fool believes not
in God.
David believes that there is a God.
Both creation and human conscience
say there is a God.
Denying the existence of God does
not erase God from the world.
Professing to be wise , they became
fools. (Romans1:22)
2 The LORD looked down from heaven
upon the children of men, to see if
there were any that did understand,
and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are
all together become filthy: there is
none that does good, no, not one.
The Lord looked from heaven
upon the children of men. The
Lord check to see if there were any
that understand and seek God.
They are all gone aside. They have
grown sour .They are all together
filthy. They are all together corrupt.
The result of denying God leads
men into corruption.
There is none that does good , not
one.
The fallen man is so far fallen he
does not do good.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no
knowledge? who eat up my people
as they eat bread, and call not upon
the LORD.
5 There were they in great fear:
for God is in the generation of the
righteous.
6 You have shamed the counsel
of the poor, because the LORD is
his refuge.
It is the workers of evil who have
no knowledge.
The workers of iniquity seem to be
strong and seem to have the upper
hand.
The workers of evil call not upon
God . These wicked people seem
to eat up the people of God as
they eat bread.
The workers of evil seem to be strong
and confident , but there were they
were in great fear , for God is in
generation of the righteous.
The evil workers know that they
are battling against God .
Therefore they can never win.
The wicked workers may work
against the poor ,but the Lord has
a refuge for the poor .
They can never succeed fighting
against God.
You have shamed the counsel
of the poor, because the LORD is
his refuge.
The poor take counsel and observe
the end of the wicked.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were
come out of Zion! when the LORD
brings back the captivity of his people,
Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall
be glad.
Oh that the salvation of Israel were
come out of Zion.
David knew the wicked workers will
never win. David knew that the Lord
was a refuge for his people.
God will bring the victory and the
deliverance He had promise to
His people.
Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall
be glad.
