David's Psalm of Jesus Christ (38)
1 O LORD, rebuke me not in your wrath: neither chasten me in your hot displeasure. 2 For your arrows stick fast in me, a and your hand presseth me sore. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of your anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. 4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. 6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. 7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. 8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart. 9 Lord, all my desire is before you; and my groaning is not hid from you. 10 My heart pants, my strength fails me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. 11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off. 12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. 13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that opens not his mouth. 14 Thus I was as a man that hears not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. 15 For in you, O LORD, do I hope: you will hear, O Lord my God. 16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me. 17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. 18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. 19 But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. 20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is. 21 Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me. 22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation. God imputes righteousness apart from works (Romans 4:6-8) If David was judged on his works alone , the righteousness God would condemn David. David abides in Christ and Christ abides in David. Christ righteousness is David's. God is satisfied with Christ's payment for David's sin with His precious blood. In his transgression the person crosses a line defying God's authority . The man's sin is that he missed God's mark. Man's sin is he falls short of God's mark. Man's iniquity is man's crookedness and distortion. Come to the Lord with a clean spirit. There should be no guile in the man's spirit . There should be no deceit in the man's spirit. Do not deceive yourself. Come clean before God 1 O LORD, rebuke me not in your wrath: neither chasten me in your hot displeasure. 2 For your arrows stick fast in me, and your hand presseth me sore. David sensed the displeasure and the wrath of God. The Lord chasten David as a Father. Christ is made the same target of agony on the cross for our sin not His sin.. For your arrows stick in Christ , and His hand presses down upon Jesus much harder than on David. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of your anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. 4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. There is no soundness in David's flesh because of God's anger. Neither is there any rest in David's bones because of David's sin. For David's iniquities are gone over David's head. As a heavy burden they are too heavy for David. David's wounds stinks and are corrupt because of David's foolishness. 6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. 7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. 8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart. David is troubled David is bowed down greatly. David goes mourning all day long. For David's loins are a loathsome disease. And there is no soundness in David's flesh.. David is feeble and sore broken. David has roared by reason of the noise in his heart. 9 Lord, all my desire is before you; and my groaning is not hid from you. 10 My heart pants, my strength fails me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. David has troubles when he looks to himself. David should look to the Lord. David should abide in the Lord for his peace. The LORD redeems the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. None of the folks who trust in Christ shall be condemned. God will rescue the soul of His servants. There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). David's lovers and David's friends stand aloof from David's sore; and Davis's kinsmen stand afar off. They also that seek after my life lay snares fore David : and they that seek David's hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. But David , as a deaf man, heard not; and David was as a dumb man that opens not his mouth. Thus David was as a man that hears not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. 15 For in you, O LORD, do I hope: you will hear, O Lord my God. 16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me. For in you, O LORD, do David hope: You will hear, O Lord my God. For David said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me. In the Lord hopes David. For Davis is ready to halt, and David's sorrow is continually before David. For David will declare his iniquity; David will be sorry for his sin. But David's enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. They also that render evil for good are David's adversaries; because David follow the thing that good is. 21 Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me. 22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation. Forsake David not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from David. Make haste to help David, O Lord my salvation
